Broadcast facility in West Orange, New Jersey

Hanson Professional Services Inc. (HANSON) provided Site & Building Design services for upgrading an existing facility and

providing a new building on Eagle Rock Tower Site in West Orange, New Jersey... The Transmitter Facility site consisted of a

two-story masonry structure with existing broadcast tenants, and the new building would house digital and LPTV broadcast

facilities. Site Survey Services included documentation of the existing building and electrical services. Adjunct services included

Site Plans, building plans, elevations and RF antenna detailing, electrical and mechanical services for building and tenant

implementation Interestingly, in obtaining approvals from the Town of West Orange, for Tower type and height restrictions, the

planning board also took a keen interest in the design of the structure. Being located near Eagle Rock Park and a prominent

perch on high point of the Road, the town did not want an Industrial look. A false 3-story front developed with local vernacular

features of brick, precast concrete cornice, headers and lintels beguile a plain utilitarian 2-story transmitter housing plant.

Project for the Renovation / Alteration of an Industrial Building into a commercial space. This includes roofing, exterior

walls, doors and windows. Interior Design includes new framed egress ways, entryways and Kitchen /Bathroom facilities.

Design features central large column free open space with heavy wood trussworks. Exterior Wall Design by Northern New

Jersey notable Architect Ray Nadaskay of Nadaskay/Kopelson Architects. Sustainable design measures include Green

selection of materials including metal roofing, insulation, FSC wood and storm drainage. The refurbished open ceiling and

Sky monitors also provide natural bright light. The Contractor is a leader in LEED projects thru-out the state and

incorporated geo-thermal mechanical system for the efficient heating and cooling of the space.

Residential Architectural Envelope Marcotti-Levine Residence - Building Alteration/Renovation.

Project for the complete Renovation and Alteration of a Residential Building. This includes roofing, exterior siding, cultured

stone, doors and windows. Master Plan Design includes interior ceiling treatment enhancements and an extended and

refurbished wrap-around deck. Due to Local Zoning Requirements, the incorporation of a new Entryway necessitated

Variance applications which were sought and obtained. Design features simple modern craftsman style elements with flat

metal roof over simple framed flat raised roof rafters and post and beam framing over entryway. Sustainable design

measures include Green selection of materials including metal roofing, insulation, FSC wood, exterior recycled glass tile

and storm drainage.
