August marks another new beginning for Taylor Road. We are very excited about what we believe God will accomplish with the Praise and Worship ministry of Taylor Road. Tim Wuester begins God’s work with us in this last week of July, hopefully, God will plant him here for a long time to lead us into the presence of God as we praise and worship Him with clean hands and a pure heart.

Pray for Tim, his wife Amy, and their two youngest children Hannah and Ben as they move in and begin to make adjustments to living in Montgomery. Also, ask the Lord to bless their ministry. Pray that their arrival, unpacking, and adjusting will be memorable and pleasant.

God has chosen to do His great work through His called servants. Tim has answered God’s call to serve with us in the area of Praise & Worship. God will teach us many wonderful things through Tim’s leadership, and I look forward to working beside him as God works through Tim with you. As Tim comes to Montgomery to lead us, may we follow the Holy Spirit directly to the throne of God?

I sing praises to His name,

Pastor Andy

PS. Bring a pound of something to share with Tim and his family at their reception on Sunday night, July 31, immediately following the evening worship service. An old fashion experience, “Pounding Someone” that expresses God’s love.

Bible Study class at Taylor Road on Sunday, August 14, Promotion Sunday!

Members of the Media Ministry Photography Team will visit classes between 9:09 and 9:30 a.m.

Make sure you and your whole class is in attendance and on time! These pictures will be included in the

new pictoral directory that we are taking photos for in the month of August.

I was visiting a friend who works for another church in a neighboring city and found some of the most unique advertising. It’s in a place that holds you captive and still for at least a minute or two a couple times of day...the restroom.

You will soon be noticing plastic holders being installed in all the restrooms throughout the church. Each week the newest edition of the Sunday News will be there to read in the most convienent location!

On Sunday morning we estimate that 75% of those in attendance will visit a restroom...for the rest of you, remember that co!ee and water are free here at Taylor Road!

First o!, thank you so much to the many people who worked to make VBS happen this year. We know that you could do it without us, but we could not do it without you. Everyone of you played a great part in bringing God’s Truth to children in a way that will a!ect the rest of their lives. Thank you, sincerely.

We also want to let you know that God has really been working in our hearts this Summer to change the way we look at our ministry. We want to empower families to live in God’s will. The "rst change you might notice this year is how we will do First Grade Bible presentation. We will be giving parents the opportunity to write a note in their child’s Bible before they present it to them in the Sunday Worship Service. We also will be providing a plan for how they can realistically read the Bible with their children and encourage their children to study God’s word. If you are thinking, “Well I hate I missed that when my kid was in First Grade,” then good for you. We encourage you to do the same with their current Bible or the next Bible you get them. We also would like to make available some of the information we provide to the parents of the First Graders. Just shoot Ruth an email ([email protected]), and we will make sure that you get the material that we give to the First Grade parents.

Finally we just have a few dates for you to remember in the month of August:

August 14, 9:09 a.m.-- Promotion Sunday: Your child(ren) will move up to their new class for the year. We will not have Rally Room that morning, but encourage you to stop by your Child(ren)’s new class and meet their teachers for the year.

August 20, 5:00-6:30 p.m. -- First Grade Promotion Party: Join us at the Hepburns’ for dinner and some time talking about the importance of scripture in your home and life.

August 21, 10:30 a.m. -- First Grade Bible Presentation: Parents will present Bibles to their children in the morning service.

August 24, 6:30 p.m.-- AWANA kicks-o!: Join us for a whole new year of learning God’s word, studying missions around the world and just plain fun games.

We are so excited about this new journey that God has placed us on in our ministry. We know that we won’t execute everything perfectly, so please let us know how we can operate more e!ectively. Let us know when you think we get it right, too.

Hey Everybody,

It's hard to believe that another Summer has come and gone. There have been many highlights. A few weeks ago, we returned from Ottawa. Our group was able to minister to other organizations in the Ottawa area that minister to the people there. Also, we took part in a large community outreach night to help support a church plant in the Ottawa area. It was a great week.

Youth VBS was a big success. We have been challenging our students to spend time in God's word. VBS week, our students read through the book of John together. For some, it was the !rst time that they had read a whole book of the Bible. For others, even though they had read it before, new things "jumped out at them".

Our prayer is that our students will come back to Montgomery ready to tackle another year of school, and be ready to share with friends and strangers what and who it is that makes them di"erent.
