Objective

‘Partage Plus will create an access point to information (through the project website) and digital content (through Europeana) on the European cultural heritage of the Art Nouveau period. It provides a means and a structure for the digitisation of content from different domains and different countries and making it available for citizens using Europeana.’

The Project...

• ‘Digitising and enabling Art Nouveau for Europeana’

• Significantly increase the number of Art Nouveau collections available online;

• 24 Months, started in March 2012;

• Digitising 75,000+ Art Nouveau objects;

• 2,000 3D models created;

• 23 partners from 17 European countries;

• Includes paintings, drawings, furniture, sculpture, ceramics and architecture;

• Content will be contributed to Europeana, Europe’s digital cultural heritage portal;

• Use existing Art Nouveau in Europeana and encourage others to do the same.

The target user groups for project content:

• Curators of Art Nouveau;

• Communities interested in Art Nouveau in their area;

• Cultural Heritage Institutions;

• Private sector including: collectors, dealers, and relevant publishers;

• Education sector;

• Media;

• Academic researchers.

The Partage Plus website provide users with the opportunity to:

• Gather information about the Art Nouveau style;

• Find out general information about the project;

• Experience Art Nouveau works online through Europeana;

• Visit institutions with Art Nouveau collections;

• Discover how to engage with the project;

• Take part in project events.

Why Art Nouveau?

• One of the most prominent European art styles;

• Resurgence in popularity;

• Very well represented in almost every art form;

• Europeana is lacking – around 5000 records;

• Number of collections in European museums;

• Partage Plus aims to demonstrate the wealth of the Art Nouveau collections within Europe!
