ROYALS MANAGER NED YOST: On Mike Montgomery’s dominating performance “We definitely had opportunities in the first two innings. What Montgomery did was, he went to a changeup and his changeup was really, really good tonight. We swung at a bunch of balls out of the zone. There was no more hitting after that. He just settled in, starting spotting his fastball really well and mixing in that really good changeup. On Jeremy Guthrie’s outing “I thought he pitched better than his line. I thought he did a great job pitching out of the jam, second and third in the second inning. In the fourth inning, obviously the two walks hurt him, but I think there was only one ball hit hard. They weren’t really hitting the ball hard, but found a way to score three runs.
