Lucy is Senior Vice President at Capaccio Environmental Engineering, Inc. and has more than 30 years
of experience in providing specialized environmental compliance to industry. To help minimize risks,
she has focused on solving our clients environmental compliance challenges by providing cutting edge
hazardous waste management solutions (contingency plans, waste characterization); Emergency
Planning and Community Right To Know Act (EPCRA) and Toxics Use Reduction Act (TURA) reporting;
and NPDES permitting (stormwater, non-contact cooling water and process specific). Through effective
TURA planning, Lucy has also helped clients to improve product quality, save money, and keep
employees safe.
CAPACCIO's mission "Helping Industry and the Environment Prosper" is something Lucy believes in and
practices. She earned a Certificate of Recognition for effective TUR planning from the Toxics Use
Reduction Institute, and was chosen to present on the benefits TUR planning as key note speaker for
the Cancer Council of Australia. She has also been recognized by the New England Chapter of the
Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (NEACHMM) with a "Champion of Excellence"
award.
Lucy holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science from Rutgers University, is a Certified
Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and a Certified TUR Planner. Lucy currently serves on numerous
committees and boards including the TUR Advisory Committee, Central Massachusetts Environmental
Business Network (CMBEN) and the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce. She formerly served
as President of the NEACHMM.

Wayne Bates, PhD, PE, is Vice President of Capaccio and is responsible for the technical services
performed by the firm. He also specializes in water and wastewater treatment technologies and
sustainability services. With more than 25 years of environmental engineering experience, he has
assisted industrial clients and public agencies in managing assets while minimizing the risks associated
with their activities. His doctoral dissertation involved developing a life cycle assessment screening
model for manufactured products and the products impact on the environment, society and economy.
Wayne is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) and holds engineering degrees from UMass-
Dartmouth (BS), Northeastern University (MS), and WPI (PhD). He also holds several licenses in the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts including a Grade 2-M and 4-I Wastewater Treatment Operator
License and a Grade 2-D Water Distribution System license. Due to his in-depth knowledge, Wayne is a
sought after speaker and has made numerous presentations and has written and published several
technical articles.

Dan is currently Director, Health Safety & Environment (HSE) and Business Continuity (BC) at Novartis
Institutes of BioMedical Research located in Cambridge, MA. In this role Dan is responsible for
comprehensive safety and environmental compliance programs as well as leading business continuity
for Novartiss discovery research operations. Prior to joining Novartis, Dan led environmental, health
and safety compliance for Bristol-Myers Squibbs large scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing
operations in Devens, MA. Dan has also had positions of increasing leadership with Abbott Laboratories
and BASF. Dan holds a B.S in Biology from St. Michaels College, Colchester, VT and a M.S. in
Environmental Management & Policy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY

Kristine is a results proven, business oriented senior EHS leader with over 20 years of international
experience. She is currently the Senior Director, Environmental Health and Safety at Jabil Circuit, the
3rd largest contract manufacturing company in the world where she has organizational responsibility
for the EHS functional globally. Prior to joining Jabil, Kristine held a similar position in Nypro where she
successfully led the organization through a cultural transformation and implemented sustainable EHS
programs. She was brought on board at Jabil following the acquisition of Nypro to duplicate the
transformative work and EHS programs. Kristine has held similar leadership positions at Cabot
Corporation and General Electric, and holds a B.A. in Environmental Science from the University of
Massachusetts and an M.S. in Environmental Science from Louisiana State University. She is also a
Certified Safety Professional.

Zehra Schneider Graham is the Deputy Director of EHS at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
Zehra has 19 years of environmental health & safety experience. She has primary responsibility for
environmental management and construction issues, environmental permitting and laboratory
compliance. She led the Environmental Management pilot program known as Project XL which
culminated in the new EPA Academic Labs Rule. Zehra holds a B.S. in Biology and English from
Simmons College, an M.S. in Environmental Science from the University of MA Boston and a M.S. in
Botany from the University of Maine, Orono. Zehra is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
and a Registered Environmental Manger (REM).

As the Head of Corporate Responsibility & Community Affairs, Johanna leads the EMD Millipores
corporate responsibility efforts, including the vision and strategic direction for environmental and social
responsibility. Her responsibilities center around strengthening the organizations business
performance by embedding sustainability into key business practices and driving and upholding a
culture committed to responsibility. Key programs she manages include their greenhouse gas
management and energy strategy, Design for Sustainability, community affairs and engagement, and
reporting activities. Johanna also supports the Merck Groups Corporate Responsibility activities.
Currently she is leading their product sustainability strategy, positioning and branding, supporting the
development of innovative opportunities for reducing life cycle environmental impacts, and developing
solutions for customers including take-back and recycling programs and sustainable packaging
improvements.
Prior to joining the former Millipore Corporation in 2008, she served as a Management Consultant,
working with public and private sector clients in developing and implementing EHS and sustainability
management systems. She received her Master of Environmental Management degree, with a
certificate in Energy and Environment, from Duke University and is also an ISO 14001 trained auditor.
She is involved in a number of sustainability related organizations, and is currently a Board member of
the National Association for EHS & Sustainability Management (NAEM), Co-Chair of the Association
Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) Sustainability Roundtable, and on the Advisory Board for the Center
for Sustainability in Business at WPI and Advisory Committee Member for the Massachusetts Maritime
Academy, Marine Safety and Environmental Protection. She also serves on the City of Cambridge
Climate Protection Action Committee and is a Board member of e inc., an organization focused on
environmental and STEM education for children. Shes a regular volunteer in the community for
organizations such as Read to a Child and Habitat for Humanity.
