David Adams, a licensed professional engineer in 10 states, is a partner and senior vice president with Sanborn Head. Mr. Adams leads the firms solid waste client service area. He has been involved with permitting, design, and operations for landfill gas-to-energy projects, gas collection system evaluations, and other solid waste and air quality consulting services. David has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Vermont and an M.S. in civil engineering from Colorado State University.

Patrick Bird, Environmental Protection Specialist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys Region 1 office, serves as the Regions staff lead for federal landfill regulations. He also serves as the Regions leading expert in solid waste incineration, as regulated under section 129 of the Clean Air Act. Patrick has extensive experience with title V permitting and New Source Review, as well as the implementation of various National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. Prior to his time at EPA, Patrick worked as a small business consultant implementing sustainability initiatives in Greater Boston area. Patrick has a B.S. from the University of Vermont, an M.S. in Environmental Science & Policy from Clark University, and an M.B.A., also from Clark University.

Andy Campanella is the founder and CEO of Loci Controls, where he has developed technology for remote monitoring and automated control of landfill gas collection systems. An electrical engineer by training, he has a broad expertise in sensing, wireless technologies, control systems and power electronics. He is an inventor on 33 US patents in the above fields. Andy has a BS in electrical engineering and computer science and a MS in management from MIT. He currently serves on the board of the Southern New England chapter of SWANA.

Chris is Vice President of Harvest New England, a Harvest Power Company. Prior to their acquisition by Harvest he was Vice President and Co-Founder of GreenCycle of the Northeast. Among his responsibilities is the development of organic recycling programs for municipalities and private corporations. He recently spearheaded Harvests food waste composting project in Connecticut. Previously Chris was Vice President of Compost Services at Earthgro. He is a graduate of Harvard College.

Phil Goddard, Manager of Facility Compliance and Technology Development, ISWM Department, Town of Bourne has 26 years of experience in environmental and solid waste management. He has worked for the Town for almost 15 years, most of the time as Environmental Manager before assuming his new title. Prior to that, he was a regional recycling coordinator for MA DEP.

During the 1990s, stemming from his time as a founding member of the Bourne Recycling Committee, he later was one of the lead consultants to the Bourne Board of Selectmen during the creation and development of ISWM department and facility. Early in his career Mr. Goddard worked for Waste Management of CT, Inc. as a Community Relations Coordinator and Compliance Coordinator.

Currently he serves as Vice President of the Southern New England Chapter of SWANA and is also a Director on the MassRecycle board. He has B.S. in Marketing from Babson College in Wellesley, MA and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Environmental Policy at UMASS Dartmouth.

Sam Nicolai is Director of Engineering for Casella Waste Systems, based out of Rutland, Vermont. He manages engineering, permitting, and construction activities at solid waste facilities throughout Casella's Northeast footprint, including ten active landfills. His expertise includes developing technical and financial solutions for complex environmental management systems, including waste diversion strategies, methane-to-energy projects, and environmental monitoring programs. His nearly 20 years of industry and consulting experience includes managing engineering, EHS compliance, and due diligence programs for a wide variety of solid waste and industrial facilities. Sam holds civil/environmental engineering degrees from the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in several states.

David Pierotti will be assisting with project development. As one of the longest serving members of Harvest, he has carried out many responsibilities during his tenure. Some of these include: grant & proposal submission, participating in relevant policy and legislative initiatives, and investigating project leads. He is currently focused on East Coast development and working to bring Harvests next digester to completion in Bourne, MA. This includes collaborating with municipal bodies, coordinating permitting activities and conducting community outreach. He has worked previously in the Massachusetts State House and has a Masters in Environmental Management from Harvard.

Steve Poggi is Waste Managements Area Director of Disposal Operations in the New England and New York Market Area. He has over thirty years of solid waste experience in the solid waste management field and leads WMs team responsible for the development and operation landfills and transfer stations in NE and upper NY State, which includes 11 operating landfills and 14 transfer stations. Steves responsibilities include overall P&L, operations, safety, compliance, capital management, and regulatory/community relations.

WMs landfill gas operations in NE and NY include 10 landfill gas to electric power projects and 5 landfill gas sales. Overall permitted generating capacity from the plants exceed 60 MW of electricity or enough for about 50,000 homes using landfill gas. These projects include a landfill gas agreement with the University of NH where gas is processed and transferred through a dedicated 12.7 mile pipeline to generate approximately 70% of the power used annually at the Universitys Durham Campus.

Thomas Yeransian is a principal and a founder of CommonWealth Resource Management Corporation, a management and environmental consulting firm focusing on issues and opportunities related to resource conservation, recovery and utilization. Founded in 1991, CommonWealth is also a developer of renewable energy and environmental projects on its own and through strategic partnerships. With over thirty years of professional experience as a project developer and consultant, Mr. Yeransian manages the development, licensing, engineering and operation of projects in the areas of solid waste management, renewable power generation, and anaerobic digestion. Mr. Yeransian has bachelors degrees in chemical engineering and economics from Tufts University and a masters degree in business administration from Boston College.
