BREAD: Scald 1 1/2 cup of milk, mix 1 c sugar, 2 tspsalt, 1 cup mashed potatoes and 2/3 c shorteningtogether and then stir into the scalded milk. Cooluntil luke warm. Take 3 cups flour and mix in 2 eggsand 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. Set aside. Mix 4 pkgyeast with 1/2 cup warm water and pour into the milk/

potato mixture after mixture has cooled to lukewarm.Pour mixture into the flour and knead, adding up to3 1/2 more cups of flour. Add enough until the doughis sticky-- then put in a warm place in a bowl with asheet over it. Knead dough after 1 hour and let itraise one more hour. This dough also works withkolaches and cinnamon rolls.MEAT FILLING: Brown 1-lb hamburger, 1-lb sausage,1 can sour kraut, salt, pepper and onion to taste.Roll out dough into circle-and stuff with meat. Bakeat 350° for about 20 minutes or until dough is golden.Brush with butter.
