Dear Parents, “Math is fun!” This simple quote was brought to life during CISM’s ‘Math Week’. Thanks to our enthu- siastic math teachers, our learners have been engaging in fun math ac- tivities over the past few days. The highlight was the ‘Math Interactive Center’ set up in the school lobby, which featured: a ‘Damath Corner’ for playing Turkish checkers, a ‘Rubik’s Cube Corner’ where begin- ners tried their luck at solving this Hungarian puzzle; and a ‘Tangram Corner’ where students engaged in the old Chinese practice of making pictures with assorted shapes. The Math Interactive Center also show- cased student work, including Grade 7’s miniature houses, Grade 8’s ex- ploding boxes, Grade 10’s mathe- matical models, and Grade 12’s ‘string art’. While Math is an essen- tial subject for students, it is also a beautiful intellectual creation that is worthy of celebration. Kudos to our fabulous Math Department for in- spiring us all to enjoy math. NO CLASSES on May 14 (Monday) to give way to the local elections.

Students are assessed by a panel of judges to meas-ure their standards and to help them achieve their maximum potential. For school year 2018, three CISM students were cited for their performances, obtaining the highest examination scores. Mia Francesca Barrera, Gr 5 MS, for Piano, Gr. 3 Level IV Andrea Giada Barrera, Gr 2 MP, for Piano, Gr. 1 Level IV Selina Go, Gr 4 DD, for Cecchetti Ballet Gr. 3
