THE INVITATION TO CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP The Chancel rail is a place of prayer and is open to all who desire to come forward and kneel in prayer for yourself or another. If you would like the Pastor to pray with you, please place your hand palm up, on the chancel rail.

As I think, study and pray toward Sunday, pictures and videos of North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un are everywhere. For today, he is threatening and the North Korean news agencies mince no words concerning his intention to dominate and destroy. He is our nation’s enemy. He wants to destroy us and bring us to our knees. I would not welcome him into my home. I would be afraid to know he anywhere near me or my family. In the year 36 AD (approximately), another man threatened people, whole communities of people. His name was Saul, and he was violent, pro-active and resourceful. He was a Pharisee, and determined to eradicate all who had fallen into the “Way,” that fledgling movement of people who claimed Jesus Christ as Savior. But God had other plans for Saul: God meant for him to be a instrument, a voice if you will, sharing the good news of Jesus to the Gentiles. At the same time, God revealed that Saul would suffer mightily on his behalf. Saul had plans. He went to high priests for credentials to expand his hunt for Christians all the way to Damascus. God had other plans for Saul.

GOD TRANSFORMED THE ENEMY SAUL INTO BROTHER SAUL. (The name change comes later) I have no doubt God is still transforming lives, sometimes more dramatically than others. But what would happen if we prayed that God would transform Kim Jong Un? Certainly we pray for the safety of our nation and world, but what if we prayed for the transformation of an enemy into a brother? Pray for miracles…. For the sake of the world…. Scarlett
