A man, his wife, and his mother-in-law went on vacation to the Holy Land. While they were there, and while they were in Jerusalem, the mans mother-in-law died. With the death certificate in hand, the man went to the undertaker to make arrangements to send the body back to the States for proper burial. The undertaker, after hearing of the death of the mother-in-law told the man, "My friend, the sending of a body back to the States for burial is very, very expensive. It could cost as much as $5,000. The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your mother-in-law home, when it would be won-derful to be buried here and spend only $150?". The man thinks for some time, and answers the undertaker, "A man died here 2000 years ago, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just cant take that chance!

For that matter, you can attend any activity of the church and are invited to do so. Becoming a member is, in faith, saying you want a deeper commitment to the church. Our vows ask us to faith-fully participate in the life of the church with our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service and our witness. We hope you will be a part of the ministry of the First United Methodist Church. If you would like to become a member, please give us: Name(s), address, phone number, e-mail address, anniver-saries, birthdays and if you are already a member of some other church or not.
