Virgin Australia: Business Analyst

Major Achievements:Sabre software development

This was phase Ii of the Sabre Sonic Web (SSW) project. This phase was the development/implementation of functionality enhancements that were missing from the Sabre platform.

Where Sabre had already developed the solution, the requirements gathering was for a software Implementation, however, where the solution had NOT been developed then a requirement gathering was for software Development. These web initiatives had four aspects:

1. To gather business requirements and document. 2. Design future business processes (using BPMN2).3. Develop wireframes and mock-ups.4. Develop the Functional Specification (FSD) based on functionalities actually

delivered.5. Traceability and Gaps analysis.6. Assessing risk and managing Unit & regression testing for implementation ( in

conjunction with NIIT offshore testing team).7. Working with business numerous stakeholders in addressing change

management issues and developing strategies and processes.

Working with business SME’s from across the Virgin business, as well as Sabre PM’s, BA’s developers and testers that are located across the globe; I delivered the following: Online Gift Voucher redemption. Major Achievements:This project was a strategic analysis of the future direction of Vehicle Parking facilities at both QUT

Develop workflows and procedure documents.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 – Merchandising – Solution Design phase

Manage review of the solution design documents (approx. 600 pages) for the merchandising piece of the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 implementation project.Total project budget: Approx. $2M.

GOODSTART EARLY LEARNING: Senior Business Analyst & Project manager

GoodStart has approximately 700 centres and 15,000 employees Australia wide.

Major Achievements:Applications Relocation Project

As a part of the Business Renewal initiative, business-critical applications were being moved off site to a new data centre. My role in the execution of this initiative was;

Map the relationships between old hardware and new hardware.Develop template for system migration (specification) including tasks, contacts, testing and rollback strategies etc.Develop the test policy for technology owners to apply as a standard.Ensure move specification documents were complete.Ensure testing is complete.Assist business owners understand the implications of each application move.Manage timelines, tasks and resources.Manage the change process (forms, communications etc.).Manage implementation of CommVault backup.

WAN Routers in centres

A Business Renewal Initiative – to install Cisco routers with 3G failover capabilities & Wi-Fi for all centres Australia-wide. My role: Manage pilot installations and testing. PC Replacements in Centres

A Business Renewal Initiative – Centre PC’s were 5+ years old and overdue for replacement. My role: Develop & monitor timelines for SOE image & centre rollouts. Coordinate rollout with Citrix & router initiatives.

CIT application (Critical

Incident Team) and QSV (Quality Support Visits) software application development

Both the CIT & QSV were development projects aimed at improving the quality of services at the centres and strategic alignment to emerging Government regulations. My role:

Manage testing and pilots, and problem resolution.Project management.

SME’s included internal education program specialists and IT developer.Intranet software Development: HR Phase II

Facilitate improvements to the capture of HR information (staff qualifications) for integration into PeopleSoft. Working with HR and IT professionals, I delivered the following:

To get this project moving quickly, I applied a ‘light’ documentation principle.

MindMapping Software MindMapping software was identified as a business critical tool to assist the Manager – Projects (SME): Gather business requirements. CEO Forum Along with the ICT Manager and representatives from other Early Learning institutions; participated in the ‘CEO early learning industry forum’.

The Range Planning suite of tools was made up of 5 individual software development pieces. Working with SME’s from across the business, senior managers, BA’s and multiple IT developers, I performed the following: Managed the whole Range Planning project including resources and

deliverables. Managed the UAT and change management within the Range Planning

project. Gathered user requirements and documented these. Communicate

requirements to programmers for development. Managed first line support following implementation – including

documenting and prioritising bug fixes and change requests. Manage the Change Management process with users;

- Through UAT & training strategies. Develop UAT scripts and training documentation;

ERP- Financial Management System evaluation

Review of Financial Management Systems to replace the MacCB (AS400) system. As Project Manager & Business Analyst I was responsible for; Assisting Finance with documenting as-is processes, critical success factors

& requirements for a replacement FMS. Manage the process to hire a System Assessment partner. This involved;

- Identifying potential candidates; - Developing candidate assessment criteria and interview questions; - Conducting interviews and ranking results.

Document high-level system requirements and critical success factors for the first-pass vendor analysis.
