• Virtual resource flow includes data, information, and information in the form of decisions.

to achieve overall objectives.– Firm’s management.– Information processor that transform data into

The Firm in Its Environment
• Environmental elements are organizations and individuals that exist outside the firm and have a direct or indirect influence on it.– Such as suppliers, customers, labor unions,
financial community, stockholders and owners, competitors, and governments.
• Global community is the geographic area where the firm performs its operations.

MANAJEMEN VERSUS ORGANISASI
• Organisasi: Statis, sebagai wadah– Manajemen: Dinamis, sebagai proses bagaimana
mengelola sumberdaya organisasi untuk mencapai tujuan organisasi.
– Manajemen dibutuhkan untuk menjaga keseimbangan diantara tujuan yang mungkin berbeda diantara para stakeholder (Pemilik, Karyawan, Konsumen, Kreditur, Suplier, Pemerintah, Asosiasi dsb)
– Untuk mencapai efisiensi dan efektivitas dalam mencapai tujuan.
WHAT IS MANAGER?
• Seseorang yang tanggung jawab utamanya melaksanakan proses manajemen
• Seseorang yang merencanakam dan membuat keputusan , mengorganisasikan, memimpin, dan mengendalikan sumber daya manusia, finansial, fisik dan informasi.
JENIS MANAGER BERDASARKAN TINGKATANNYA
• Top Managers (Strategic Planning)– Sekelompok kecil eksekutif yang mengelola keseluruhan
organisasi, mereka menciptakan tujuan organisasi, strategi pencapaian dan kebijakan operasional . Contohnya: CEO, Presiden Direktur.
• Middle Managers (Management Control)– Kelompok manajer yang paling banyak dalam organisasi,
bertanggung jawab untuk mengubah rencana strategis menjadi sebuah tindakan konkrit untuk mencapai tujuan yang ditetapkan serta mengevaluasi, supervisi dan mengkoordinasikan pekerjaan manajer bawahannya. Contohnya: Wakil Dekan, Wakil Ketua)
TINGKATAN MANAJER
• First-Line Managers (Operational Level)– Mengawasi/supervisi dan mengkordinasikan
aktifitas karyawan. Contoh: Supervisor, Kepala Seksi, Asisten Manager.

• Technical– Keahlian yang diperlukan untuk menyelesaikan atau
memahami jenis kerja tertentu yang dilakasanakan dalam suatu organisasi
• Interpersonal– Kemampuan untuk memahami, memotivasi dan berkomunikasi
dengan individu maupun kelompok• Conceptual
– Kemampuan untuk memahami dan memandang organisasi sebagai satu kesatuan. Bagaimana semua bagian dalam organisasi bisa berjalan bersama melalui keputusan yang berbasis pada kepentingan keseluruhan organisasi

• Diagnostic– Keahlian untuk memvisualisasikan jawaban yang paling
sesuai• Communication
– Kemampuan manajer utk mengirimkan ide dan informasi secara efektif kpd orang lain dan menerima ide dan informasi dari orang lain

masalah dengan benar dan kemudian menentukan satu tindakan yang tepat untuk memecahkan masalah tsb.

mengendalikan waktu bekerja secara efisien, mendelegasikan pekerjaan secara tepat untuk situasi tertentu
DEFINISI SISTEM
• Sistem adalah kumpulan dari unsur/elemen-elemen yang saling berkaitan/berinteraksi dan saling mempengaruhi dalam melakukan kegiatan bersama untuk mencapai suatu tujuan tertentu. Contoh:
• Sistem Komputer – Software– Hardware– Brainware– Prosedur
DEFINISI SISTEM INFORMASI
• Sistem informasi adalah sebuah sistem yang terdiri dari komponen manusia, komputer, teknologi informasi, dan prosedur kerja, serta memiliki data yang akan diolah menjadi suatu informasi yang berguna dan dimaksudkan untuk mencapai suatu sasaran atau tujuan tertentu.

SIFAT SISTEM INFORMASI
• Sistem Informasi dapat dibedakan menjadi dua:– sistem informasi manual dan – sistem informasi berbasis komputer (CBIS)
• CBIS atau selanjutnya disebut sistem informasi (SI) saja adalah jenis sistem informasi yang menggunakan komputer.
Contoh Sistem Informasi
• Sistem reservasi pesawat terbang• Sistem untuk menangani penjualan kredit kendaraan
bermotor • Sistem biometrik• Sistem POS (point-of-sale)• Sistem berbasiskan kartu cerdas • (smart card)• Sistem layanan akademis berbasis web.• E-government atau sistem informasi layanan
pemerintahan yang berbasis Internet.
Kemampuan Sistem Informasi• Melaksanakan komputasi numerik, bervolume besar, dengan kecepatan tinggi.• Menyediakan komunikasi dalam organisasi atau antarorgansiasi yang murah,
akurat, dan cepat.• Menyimpan informasi dalam jumlah yang sangat besar dalam ruang yang kecil
tetapi mudah diakses.• Memungkinkan pengaksesan informasi yang sangat banyak di seluruh dunia
dengan cepat dan murah. • Meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi orang-orang yang bekerja dalam kelompok
dalam suatu tempat atau pada beberapa lokasi.• Menyajikan informasi dengan jelas yang menggugah pikiran manusi• Mengotomasikan proses-proses bisnis yang semiotomatis dan tugas-tugas yang

• Supply chain is the pathway that facilitates the flow of physical resources from suppliers to the firm and then to customers.
• Supply chain management manages the resources through the supply chain to ensure timely and efficient flow.

• Electronic systems provide the ability to track the flow of the resources as it occurs.
• Is a crucial aspect of a firm’s ERP system.

• Competitive advantage refers to the use of information to gain leverage in the marketplace.– Uses virtual as well as physical resources.– Is used to meet the strategic objectives of
