When one is born in the town of Vallauris - the land of ceramists, sculptors, and famous

or unknown painters - ones senses are naturally awakened. After having been a

visual leader for a large ready-to-wear brand, and discarding the idea of making his own

creation, Jonathan Canuti decided to develop a creative and participative concept in fashion

up-cycling called the Clandestin Studio. He and his team rework the wardrobe basics for

man, woman and children, and every year offers a collection of sixty pieces to buy on

their website or in shops. He also invites his customers to draw the silhouette that they like

on the site and send their own clothes to be reworked in their clandestine lab where craft is always at the forefront. Creating scarcity, making small-scale pieces, promoting local know-how, and promoting one's work - a

successful first show in Mamac - is a lot of investment but one also gets a lot of love in

return. Good for him, it is his fuel.
