Electomecanical meter – CBME = Compteur Bleu Electromecanique

• Around 22 Million meters

Electronic meter – CBE = Compteur Bleu Electronique

• More than 10 million meters

All residential EDF meters using at least a dual tarification are controlled by a unidirectional 175 Hz signal over the power line since 70’s

Example : Today, 10 million electric water tanks are switch on during the night to allow a flat load curve in order to optimize nuclear generation.

Currently 114 Meters in 6 different families


Linky – Field test

• 300 000 meters already deployed

– Smart Electric Lyon field test is done during the first Linky deployment phase

• Linky Meter deployment starts in 2015

– Generalization phase• Will start in 2015

– With 3 million meters for the first Year

• Then– Deployment of the 32 million meters – End of deployment schedule for 2020/2022.

Quick descrition : TIC– Is a real time serial and modulated wired Interface

• 1 to 3 seconds instantaneous emission• Supplied by the meter (130mW +/- 8V AC 50 KHz)

– Two TIC modes are available• Historical mode (1200 Bps)

– For historical tarification calendar» Allows retro compatibility with “Old” Customer appliances

• Standard Mode (9600 Bps)– For new tarification calendar

» Allows a more flexible and dynamical tarification for all french electricity providers
