The class is fun and interesting!• In class we practice understanding,
speaking, reading, and writing in French.
• To learn French we do many activities, including:
For high school graduation, students must take
1 year of a world language or 1 year of art.
For admission into a four-year university (UC Merced, UC Davis, Sac State, Fresno State, Stanislaus, etc.) 2 years of a world language are required, but 3 years is recommended.
Students who already speak Spanish, Hmong, Punjabi, or another language can become trilingual!
You will be able to access French websites and chat with French students.
Learning French can help you get a job since most employers prefer to hire people who speak multiple languages.
Due to being near Yosemite, many French-speaking people visit our area and shop in local businesses.
You will gain valuable skills!
Every other summer, Madame Gordon-Walker takes a group on a 9 or 10-day trip to France and neighboring countries.
After you have completed at least one year of French study, you too could register for a France trip. Friends and family are encouraged to join us on this trip. Unfortunately, this trip isn’t cheap, so start saving early!
