Telugu poet, critic, research scholar &compere.

Born to Smt. Venkatamma and Sri TirumalaManoharacharyulu in an orthodox spirituallyoriented family in 1938 in NarayanapuramVillage, Sirsilla Taluk, Kishan DasYellareddypet Mandai, Karimnagar District,Telangana State. Tirumala Srinivasacharyamoved to the capital city Hyderabad for postgraduate studies in Telugu at the OsmaniaUniversity, Hyderabad, wherefrom he hadalso done research and obtained doctorate(Ph.D). With an aptitude for poetry, literaturefine arts, sports, he started his professionalcareer as a college lecturer and worked for

37 years in different capacities as Lecturerin Telugu and Reader in Sardar PatelCollege, Secunderabad, wherefrom heretired as Reader and Head of theDepartment of Telugu. He also served forone year as Principal, Annie BesantWomen's Degree College, Dilsukhnagar,Hyderabad.

He had done supervision for M.Philresearch of G. Krishna Kumari on thesubject Sivaratri Mahatmyamu -Samalochana (1994). Further, KamalaSudha Rani has done research on "Dr.Tirumala Srinivasacharya's Life & Works"and obtained Doctorate from OsmaniaUniversity.

Besides winning encomiums as a powerfulteacher, Srinivasacharya emerged as acommitted poet and authored fourty fourbooks, message of melody and literaryexuberance. Though these books reflectSrinivasacharya as a prolific writer of poetry,free verse, criticism and variety, he has wona special name for his innovativeanthologies of Rubayees and won title asTelugu Rubayee Kavi Samrat. Fifteenanthologies of Rubayees adorned hisliterary works that won a wide readership.

For over four and half a decade, the servicesrendered by Srinivasacharya to the Telugulanguage literature and culture remain everoutstanding. He compiled First LanguageTelugu Reader for the 9th class (publishedby the Government of Andhra Pradesh in1987) as a writer and commentator. Srinivasacharya is a much sought after poetand literary celebrity. He participated andspoke in the Centenary Celebrations ofliterary giants like Abhinava Potana,Vanamamalai Varadacharyulu, AcharyaDiwakarala Venkatavadhani etc. On theinvitation of several organizations gaveliterary talks during meetings held inHyderabad, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, NewDelhi, Ongole (Prakasam 01.), Khammam,Srikakulam, Barampuram, Chennai,Mumbai, Anantapuram, Tirupati,Karimnagar, Warangal, Vijayawada,Guntur, Nellore, Palakole, Chittor, Medak,Siddipeta, Korutla, Nizamabad etc. Spoke,presided over meetings, presented papersin conferences and seminars, Spoke onclassics; spoke in book release functionsetc. He Spoke on poet Nayani Subba Rao(2012) on the occasion of commemorationfunction at PS Telugu University,Hyderabad.

Srinivasacharya taught teaching methodsand different subjects to junior and degreecollege lecturers in training classesorganized by the Dept. ofTelugu, OsrnaniaUniversity, Directorate of Higher Education.SCERT, etc. He gave long lectures on thelife and poetic works of Potana, Dasarathietc., to the participants of classes organizedby the Academic Staff College, OsmaniaUniversity, guest lectures in differentcolleges in the states of Telangana andAndhra Pradesh.
