YouTube channel upload checklist

Please fill in this document and submit with your request to upload a video to our channel. Videos will not be uploaded without this information.

1. Add the title of your video below, follow the format shown in Appendix 1.

2. Add the description of your video and replace highlighted text below with a Bitly link referring to the list in Appendix 2. Bitly links are trackable links to our website.

5. If a card is required at the end of your film to send the viewer to another YouTube video what URL should we include for the other film? See Appendix 3 for a screenshot of a card.

6. Have you provided a thumbnail graphic in the correct style? This should be created by your videographer. The only permitted exception is for footage which does not belong to City, eg an academic on a TV programme.

7. Have you provided an SRT file for subtitling your video? This is a requirement to ensure our videos are accessible and can be used by those watching the videos without sound. The file should be created by your videographer. The only permitted exception is for footage which does not belong to City, eg an academic on a TV programme.

Appendix 1

Titles

Video titles must either begin with:

City, University of London: XXX

OR end with:

XXX at City

XXX - City, University of London

This will make for the most effective search results. If a video is about a particular course in a School within the University the title must begin with the School. In this case, there is no need to add the name of the university.

Here is an example:

The City Law School: Helen Jeyakumar - LLB Graduate

All videos profiling students must include their full name in the title.
