Smooth Sailing in 3rd Grade: Week of 9/8 Announcements! Homework will begin the week of September 14 th . FYI: The cafeteria serves breakfast in the morning. Our goal this year is to help our students become responsible. They need to take their take home folders and agendas home every night and bring them back to school every morning. Our weekly newsletter will be posted on my classroom website. If you would prefer a paper copy, please let me know. The beginning of the year school paperwork is due on September 11 th . In ELA , our class began a close reading with the story The First Day of School. They also completed the Elementary Spelling Inventory. In Math , we reviewed addition and subtraction skills. The students also took a pretest for Place Value. Students visited different stations around the school to learn about expectations for the hallway, cafeteria, dismissal, and bathroom. THIS WEEK: In Science, we will continue to study Space. In ELA, we will continue the close reading with the story, The First Day of School . We will focus on dictionary skills; text-dependent questions; grammar; and phonics. In Math, we will be focusing on Place Value.
