If that description sounds like you – Gofal would like to hear from you. We are looking for Case Workers in our Cardiff and Vale Region, and have vacancies for passionate and experienced people in our tenancy Support and Housing Support and Advice services.
In the Vale of Glamorgan, you will be joining a committed team which provides short-term support to individuals experiencing mental health and housing crises. This includes those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or those who are inappropriately housed. We act as a link between mental health and housing/homelessness services offering support around resettlement from hospital, support to access suitable housing, support to prevent loss of accommodation and signposting/referral to other relevant sources of support.
In Cardiff and the Vale, you will be working with Service Users in the Community, supporting them in their own homes across a range of projects. You will work flexibly with several different teams, and will enjoy learning and working with different colleagues and service users in a range of settings.

Gofal Case Worker – Housing Support and Advice, Vale of Glamorgan
Location: Cardiff and Vale Office bases Salary: £18,685 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
The Housing Support and Advice role will require you to provide a range of social, emotional and practical support for people with Mental Health and associated problems who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and would require short term support and assistance to access and maintain suitable accommodation and Mental Health services.
You will take responsibility for the assessment of individual’s readiness to sustain a suitable tenancy and agree objectives and action plans for property searches, liaising with landlords to ensure the smooth running of tenancies.
You will require a good understanding of housing and homelessness legislation as it relates to tenancies and private rented housing specific to Wales and also of the benefits system especially relating to housing and renting.
Gofal Case Worker – Cardiff and Vale
Location: Cardiff and Vale Office base Salary: £18,685 per annum

This role will require you to work within different teams within the Cardiff and Vale, engaging with a range of service users with mental health problems, and providing support based on their needs. Job Purpose: To support service users in moving towards independent living in a recovery orientated way, in line with the services operational plan in your area.
To support and mentor Support Workers in delivering the aims of the service.
Role Expectations: Provide social, emotional and practical support for services users with mental health and associated problems
Lead on and draw up support plans and action plans, and mentor Support Workers in their delivery.
Manage your own caseload to make sure that an effective service is delivered to service users.

Lead on, draw up and review risk assessments and management plans, involving Support Workers, service users and external professionals.
Actively assist service users’ ability to access other services, to promote their independence.

Ensure all service user information is recorded accurately and where relevant shared with colleagues inside and external to Gofal.
