Oak Class Homework Dates for the diary 11 th Sept – Parents Meeting 14 th Sept – Phonics Meeting 6 th Oct – Fun Run 27 th Oct - Half Term 17 th Nov – Parents FAIR TRADE TUCK SHOP Every Friday there is a Fair Trade Tuck shop on the Infant Playground where the children can buy a Fair Trade Treat. If they would like one could they bring 20p to school on a Friday and could they keep it in the zip part of their reading bag. Thank you WATER BOTTLES We have a lovely reward system for the children in class that involves them earning pennies during the week that they then get to spend at the shop on a Friday. We would like all the children to make their own piggy bank to collect their pennies in. It needs to have a slot for the pennies to go in and a lid that can be taken on and off. The best things to use are Pringles can or margarine tubs. If these come be back in school for Monday 25 th September please. I have included two examples but if you look online there are hundreds of ideas. Phonics This week in phonics we have been doing lots of work on listening and rhyme. This week we have been learning the letter sounds s, a, t, p We have also learnt the tricky word I We will begin to look at blending these sounds together to read simple words like at, as, cat, pat. I will be talking to you lots about phonics and how we teach it at the Parent Meeting on Monday 11 th September at 9am. I have also planned a meeting Class List Attached to this letter is a class list.
