Getting’ Schooled in Schoology.com!Your Guide to Getting Started

1)Go to http://www.schoology.com. From there, you will click on the link that says “Enter Code”.

2)Enter our class code: HJNF5-PWTQ7. You will also have to enter your information and have a valid email address.

3) Follow the on screen tutorial paying close direction to what the symbols mean. As you will see, the layout if very similar to Facebook!

4) Edit your student profile by clicking on your name. Remember, this is published online and although is a form of social media, lets keep it appropriate This is your first task.

5) Access our course by clicking on the “courses” tab at the top of the screen. Again, please pay close attention to the on screen tutorial for details on its features and what you will be accessing.

6) After clicking on our course, you will see our site page. Just like Facebook, you can collaborate with others, turn in assignments, and even see your grades (quicker than Skyword!).

7) Your second task is to post to the discussion board. To do this, click Discussion and read the various options.

The first board is to post general questions on how to use Schoology. The second board will be the one you want to click on. The other two boards are set up for future discussion on this unit.

8) Click on the Say Hello discussion. Here, you will get directions on your first graded post.

9) Upcoming events and due dates will always appear to the right of the screen. Most will coincide with material in class, so while you may work ahead, I advice you move with the class unless otherwise noted to prevent inaccurate work.

10) On the left hand side of the screen is navigation through your course. Updates (like a “feed” on Facebook), your grades, attendance, and even other course members will be accessible.

Lastly…

We will be accessing this course for the remainder of the school year. The assignments are on the right side of the screen, but we will access them together:
