A single ISDN B-Channel can be assigned several unique ISDN numbers. When any of these numbers is called, the call will arrive on that channel. The called number will be contained in the setup message which can then be used to identify the destination H.323 entity.

A gateway can receive an incoming call from an H.320 terminal and establish the connection autonomously. Audio information may be sent to the H.320 terminal which can then be controlled in a menu fashion by DTMF tones from the H.320 terminal - this can either lead to a connection being established with an H.323 endpoint via the menu or a gathering of DTMF digits that can be used to identify a destination H.323 endpoint.

This method, once again, requires the Gateway to establish an autonomous connection with the calling H.320 terminal. During the capability negotiation phase, the H.320 terminal can send a TCS-4 string containing information that can be used to identify the H.323 destination.
