OUR BOARD
Francesca Sommer
DIRECTOR’S DESK FROM MICHAEL WEIDRICH
When I took over for Kris Parisi running the South Buffalo Community
Association and the Tosh Collins Center, I never dreamed it would take
almost a year and a half to reopen the Center to the public. I’m excited
to meet our Seniors for the first time. I’m excited to start resuming some
of our old programs. I’m excited to start introducing new programs.
There are endless possibilities.
While the pandemic has been hard on all of us, we’ve tried to use the
time to prepare for your eventual return. While things won’t be the
same, I hope they will be better. I am excited to truly start this new
chapter and the staff and Board can’t wait to welcome you home!
COVID-19 VACCINATIONS
[email protected] for help.
Senior Centers in the surrounding suburbs have
been reopened since LAST summer serving meals
and holding programs within COVID protocol safety
guidelines, the Buffalo Senior Centers operating
within City of Buffalo buildings, have remained
shuttered since March 2020. Now finally, the time has
come to open our doors once again and let our
Seniors back into their Center.
While COVID-19 is still a threat and some people are
still not vaccinated, there will be some simple rules
that need to be followed in order the maintain your
safety and the safe of our staff:
Mask must be worn at all times in the Center.
You must pre-register for all Center activities.
Everyone will have their temperature scanned at
the door.
Everyone will sanitize their hands upon entry.
A 6-foot distance from each other must be
maintained.
You must sit in the designated seats.
All attendees must leave the Center by 2PM.
If you use the restroom, wash your hands.
Anyone not following the rules will be asked to
leave.
continuously in accordance with the CDC, New York
State, and Erie County. Your safety is our #1 priority!
And I’m happy to say that the SBCA staff has been
100% vaccinated since May.
