Dear Friends and Families,
Is it possible that it’s November already?
Very exciting month for all of us as we focus on all the details for an amazing November! Our feature event will be our 1st Annual Family Thanksgiving Feast which will be held Saturday, November 18th from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. We are excited to have many families join us for what will be a “blowout feast” for all. Please make reservations with the Concierge desk so we can be certain to have your table ready for your arrival. Dessert will feature my personal recipe for pumpkin spice chocolate chip cookies … something the pilgrims never enjoyed!
Employee training for November will include, but not be limited to; Managing Challenging Behaviors, Infection Control, Preventing Elopement, and Accident prevention.
Our Director of Resident Engagement, Phil Robb, has plans to keep the resident lifestyle very engaged by entering the Holiday season with our robust activity calendar being highlighted by more exciting outings including a private tour of Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, a visit with the “Pawn Stars” at Rick Harrison’s Gold & Silver Pawn, and a trip to our local Pumpkin Patch!
And be sure to add a few favorite Holiday family memories, photos and recipes to Smile and make this first Holiday season at Poet’s Walk very special for everyone.
Kind Regards, Mark

Looking Ahead to Next Month
• The first Thanksgiving was held in the autumn of 1621, lasted three days, and included 50 Pilgrims and 90 Wampanoag Indians. Thanksgiving didn’t become a national holiday until over 200 years later in 1863.
• The average Thanksgiving turkey weighs 15 pounds.• The heaviest turkey on record, according to the Guinness Book of Records, weighed 86 pounds.• Female turkeys (called hens) do not gobble. Only male turkeys gobble.
In everything we do at Poet’s Walks, A Spring Hills Memory Care Community, we encourage health, wellness and peace of mind for total well-being. Our Signature Touches are services dedicated to caring for our residents by focusing on specific needs and desires, to enhance quality of life, respect time-honored passions, and engage residents in new experiences. From dining that truly satisfies to activities that Move the Body, Intrigue the Mind, and Inspire the Spirit, associates from every department, recognize the uniqueness of our residents, and each has a role to play. Residents continue to experience life at Poet’s Walk.
