For those who travel by land, sea, and air,for the sick, the suffering, the captives and fortheir salvation, let us pray to the Lord.

For our brethren, those who lead thefight against the coronavirus, the doctors, themedical workers and the scientists, let us prayto the Lord.

Ἀναχωρησάντων τῶν µάγων, ἰδοὺἄγγελος Κυρίου φαίνεται κατ᾿ ὄναρτῷ Ἰωσὴφ λέγων· ἐγερθεὶς παράλαβετὸ παιδίον καὶ τὴν µητέρα αὐτοῦ καὶφεῦγε εἰς Αἴγυπτον, καὶ ἴσθι ἐκεῖ ἕως ἂνεἴπω σοι· µέλλει γὰρ ῾Ηρῴδης ζητεῖν τὸπαιδίον τοῦ ἀπολέσαι αὐτό.῾Ο δὲ ἐγερθεὶςπαρέλαβε τὸ παιδίον καὶ τὴν µητέρα αὐτοῦνυκτὸς καὶ ἀνεχώρησεν εἰς Αἴγυπτον,καὶἦν ἐκεῖ ἕως τῆς τελευτῆς ῾Ηρῴδου, ἵναπληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν ὑπὸ τοῦ Κυρίου διὰτοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος· ἐξ Αἰγύπτουἐκάλεσα τὸν υἱόν µου. When the wise men departed, behold,an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in adream and said, "Rise, take the child and hismother, and flee to Egypt, and remain theretill I tell you; for Herod is about to searchfor the child, to destroy him." And he roseand took the child and his mother by night,and departed to Egypt, and remained thereuntil the death of Herod. This was to fulfillwhat the Lord had spoken by the prophet,"Out of Egypt have I called my son." ThenHerod, when he saw that he had been trickedby the wise men, was in a furious rage, andhe sent and killed all the male children inBethlehem and in all that region who weretwo years old or under, according to the timewhich he had ascertained from the wise men.Then was fulfilled what was spoken by theprophet Jeremiah: "A voice was heard inRamah, wailing and loud lamentation, Rachelweeping for her children; she refused to beconsoled, because they were no more." Butwhen Herod died, behold, an angel of theLord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,saying, "Rise, take the child and his mother,and go to the land of Israel, for those whosought the child's life are dead." And he roseand took the child and his mother, and wentto the land of Israel. But when he heard thatArchelaos reigned over Judea in place of hisfather Herod, he was afraid to go there, andbeing warned in a dream he withdrew to thedistrict of Galilee. And he went and dwelt ina city called Nazareth, that what was spokenby the prophets might be fulfilled, "He shallbe called a Nazarene." [RSV]

Again we pray for our brethren: the priests,the hieromonks, the hierodeacons, the monastics,and all our brotherhood in Christ.

Κύριε ὁ Θεὸς ἡµῶν, τὴν ἐκτενῆ ταύτην ἱκεσίανπρόσδεξαι παρά τῶν σῶν δούλων καὶ ἐλέησον ἡµᾶςκατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τοῦ ἐλέους σου, καί τοὺς οἰκτιρµούςσου κατάπεµψον ἐφ' ἡµᾶς, καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὸν λαόνσου, ἀπεκδεχόµενον τὸ παρά σοῦ µέγα καὶ πλούσιονἔλεος.

Lord our God, accept this fervent supplication fromYour servants, and have mercy on us in accordance with theabundance of Your mercy, and send down Your compassionupon us and upon all Your people who await Your great andrich mercy.

For You are a merciful God Who lovesmankind, and to You we offer up glory, to theFather and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, nowand forever and to the ages of ages.

Let us, the faithful, pray for the catechumens.


Ἵνα ὁ Κύριος αὐτοὺς ἐλεήσῃ. That the Lord will have mercy on them.

That He will teach them the word of truth.

Unite them to Your holy, catholic,and apostolic Church, and number them among Your chosenflock.

Accept, O God, our supplication. Make usworthy to offer You prayers, supplications, and bloodlesssacrifices for all Your people. By the power of Your HolySpirit, make us, whom You have appointed to this, Yourministry, free of blame or stumbling and, with the witness ofa clear conscience, able to call upon You at every time and inevery place, so that, hearing us, You may be merciful to us inthe abundance of Your goodness.

Again and countless times we fall down beforeYou, and we implore You, O Good One, Who lovesmankind: That You, having regarded our prayer, maycleanse our souls and bodies from every defilement offlesh and spirit, and grant to us to stand before Yourholy Altar of sacrifice, free of guilt and condemnation.Grant also, O God, to those who pray with us, progressin life, faith, and spiritual understanding.
