Plot is usually illustrated with a triangle/mountain image.
Plot Diagram
The five plot points on a plot diagram occur in the order that follows:
1. Exposition2. Rising Action3. Climax4. Falling Action5. Denouement/Resolution
Plot Points
The exposition introduces the characters, background, and setting.
◦Protagonist: main character, often (but not always) the hero of the story
◦Antagonist: character against the protagonist, often (but not always) villain of the story
◦Setting: the place and time that a story takes place

Conflict: struggle between opposing forces.◦Man vs. Man◦Man vs. Nature◦Man vs. Society◦Man vs. Self

Rising action: events which lead to the climax of the story
