Have mercy on me, O God, accordingto Your great mercy; and according to theabundance of Your compassion, blot out mytransgression. Wash me thoroughly from mylawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. You are judged. For behold, I was conceivedin transgressions, and in sins my mother boreme. Behold, You love truth; You showedme the unknown and secret things of Yourwisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop,and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me,and I will be made whiter than snow. Youshall make me hear joy and gladness; mybones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice.Turn Your face from my sins, and blot outall my transgressions. Create in me a cleanheart, O God, and renew a right spirit withinme. Do not cast me away from Your presence,and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,and uphold me with Your guiding Spirit.I will teach transgressors Your ways, andthe ungodly shall turn back to You. Deliverme from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God ofmy salvation, and my tongue shall greatlyrejoice in Your righteousness. O Lord, Youshall open my lips, and my mouth will declareYour praise. For if You desired sacrifice, Iwould give it; You will not be pleased withwhole burnt offerings. A sacrifice to Godis a broken spirit, a broken and humbledheart God will not despise. Do good, O Lord,in Your good pleasure to Zion, and let thewalls of Jerusalem be built; then you will bepleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, withofferings and whole burnt offerings; then shallthey offer young bulls on Your altar.
