Summary

This paper explores the political activities of prominentSerbian politician from Croatia, Svetozar Pribicevic du-ring the First World War. The aim of this paper is an anal-

ysis of its political activities that ranged in three areas:efforts to maintain good Serbo-Croat political relations inthe Croatian-Serbian coalition and and efforts to main-tain the coalition in power, to protect the Serbian people

in Croatia during the war, and approaches to the creationof the Yugoslavia before the end of the war.

Resume

Analyzing political activity of Svetozar Pribicevic during

the First World War, we can conclude that he took intoaccount both the interests of the Serbs as well as the in-terests of Croatian-Serbian Coalition. Both interests werematched with elementary Pribicevics guiding thought inhis political life, and that is, that, Serbs and Croats arethe one nation with two names that should work togetherto create a South Slavic state. However, since the Pribi-cevic was a Serbian politician who was taking care aboutSerbian political interests, he was unlike most Croatian

politicians, for the union with Serbia, considered the mostpressing political move that should be achieved withoutexcessive political agreement on the internal structure ofthe common state. This attitude led the Croats and Serbsinto a common state in which, just because Pribiceviccompulsion, soon clashed on many issues among which
