Meeting 9/13/2014Attendance: Natalie, Megan, Laura, Mia, Makayla, Tessa (Megan left at noon, and Mia/Makayla left at 1).
Boat projects: sanded portions of the pilot house cabin top, loosed (but did not remove) the remaining pipe from the old tower on the starboard side of the boat, took pictures of the holes in the island floaty, continued work on changing oil, replaced 12v lights in the engine room, and removed paper from our FRESHLY painted engines (woot Marilyn!)
Special Guest Appearance: Lilia came and gave a presentation on different types of metals, their strength, content, etc. I thought it was very interesting. And the girls are very excited about taking a field trip to her house to help make the new tower.
Rank advancement: due to the limited number of crew, we did not get much rank advancement done, however Laura did a great job of teaching needle whipping to Makayla.

QD agenda:- debrief seafarers- regatta attendance - plan regatta practice
There wasn't very many bad things about seafarers but we talked about leadership being more organized and presentable We want to make sure that that the coxn's of that specific even know what they're doing and that they want to do that event because when we were at seafarers we just decided right when we were doing that event to put a coxn there. So we are now going to make sure that whoever is coxning wants to do that event.
More practice time and we figured since the same 4 or 5 people show up to the Thursday meetings we are extending our Saturday meetings 10-3.
We are going to practice the events regatta style so we know the feel of how it's going to be.
We are enforcing a new rule about regattas. The people who show up to every meeting should have a first priority on what team they want to be on and the people who barely show up for the practices they can still come to the event but they can't participate in team events they can only participate in ship events. .Also we should commit to both regattas if you have a excused absence that's understandable. But we should commit to both regattas not just one.
My opinion on the new rule I like the new rule because then the people who have been showing up to every meeting should have first priority over the people who just don't want to come to that meeting because I've noticed a few times we would have someone who really want to be on scuttlebutt for example and they didn't get the position they wanted and the person who barley showed up got that position but that's just my opinion I really like the new regatta rule.
We are now starting every meeting at the boat every weekend.
