Our knitting department is equipped with some of the best machines available: Mayer & Cie circular knitting machines, and Shima Seiki and Protti flat-knitting machines. Our machines are all equipped with the highest quality attachments and all our circular knitting machines have industrial frames for the largest possible rolls to minimize wastage during processing and garmenting.

Our yarn sourcing is very particular for the quality of the yarn. Our sourcing team does a thorough quality inspection of all yarns to ensure they maintain our expectations. Defiance’s product development team begins all new ideas in knitting, where our skilled designers knit whatever the customer requirements call for.

The heart of every processing unit is the dyehouse, and Defiance is no exception. With a 15,000 kilogram per day capacity serviced by Theis machines, Defiance specializes in knit dyeing with the highest standards for finished fabric quality. We partner with the world’s leading dyes and chemicals suppliers to craft processes that result in fabric that is environmentally, ecologically, and socially responsible.

Defiance is comfortable to process all types of cellulosic fibres (natural and man-made), synthetic fibres (polyester, nylon, acrylic), and works with delicate structures regularly.

The dye house is accompanied by a world-class lab with numerous accreditations, and together, Defiance can supply fabric to the requirements of any standard.

Defiance has been well-respected as a knit printing unit; we specialize in printing delicate knit structures. Our printing department uses Stork for CAD, screen-making, printing, and ageing. Our 10-color rotary with multiple repeat options allows customers to realize their designs in pigment, discharge, reactive, and disperse printing with a capacity of 25,000 meters per day.

Our design team is comfortable to not only enable customers without proper CAD to have their artwork accurately reflected on fabric, but to develop prints in-house.

Our colors and chemicals are sourced from leading suppliers, and we are accredited to supply fabric to the strictest of norms, including babywear.

Defiance is equipped to handle both tubular and open-width fabrics. The finishing range is composed primarily of Santex machines (wet stretch, relax dryer, tubular and open-width compators, and stenter), with a Corino slitter, an Ehwha stenter, Fleissner drum dryer, Lamperti brushing, and Tubetex compactor. With two 8-chamber stenters, Defiance is particularly well-suited to the processing of fabrics with spandex.

Aside from providing stabilty to the fabrics, Defiance also specializes in value-added finishes such as moisture management, stain repellancy, anti-bacterial treatments, and UV protection to name a few.

Our finished fabrics are all inspected as per our internal systems, while simultaneously being analyzed in our physical lab for dimensional and color stability. Each batch is individually tested and records are kept for long periods of time for traceability.

Fabric is then packed in large rolls or bales to minimize wastage in cutting, and dispatched. Defiance offers its key customers the option to receive cut parts directly cut using our in-house automatic spreaders and cutters to give the most accurate cut pieces and sharpest consumptions, while minimizing logistic overheads.

Our entire process is GOTS certified, and the facility is accredited with an ISO 9001:2008 and WRAP certification, and C-TPAT compliance.

As a company, we actively pursue methods to reduce our impact on the environment. Our team endeavors to constantly reduce the water and utility consumption of our facilities, and manufacture in an ecologically-sustainable way.
