Located only 60 minutes from Melbourne, and 10 minutes from Kyneton, Bringalbit Country Retreat & Historic Gardens offers the quintessential country wedding & function experience. The historic homestead dates back to 1870 and began it’s life as a woolshed. Set in 10 acres of gardens the homestead overlooks a 1.5 hectare ornamental lake complete with it’s own island & golden coloured granite spillway built from stone quarried on the property. Rolling hills with grazing sheep give way to a parkland of oaks, poplars and pines. The 150 year old gardens are divided into several distinct areas; the Crabapple Walk, the Quince Walk, the Vegetable Garden, the Terrace Gardens and offer numerous settings & photo opportunities. Casual lunches and pre-dinner drinks are served at the Stone Kitchen, under towering oak trees, while the adjacent marquee area offers views over the Sidonia Hills.

We are pleased to advise that we are currently renovating our historic Woolshed (Barn). The Woolshed will be available for events in 2015.



Our Food

At Bringalbit we produce our own olives and olive oil, free range eggs, fresh herbs and vegetables. We bake all our own breads, make our own terrines and produce everything on site using locally sourced produce.

Our prices start at $75.00 per person for a three course menu. This includes crockery, cutlery, glassware, clothed buffet tables and service staff. Tables, chairs and linen can be arranged with a local hire company (see “Everything Else” below) We have attached some examples of our menus. We are flexible to suit your tastes and are happy to discuss any ideas you have. We are able to cater to special dietary needs with prior advice. Our wedding parties often like to have breakfast together the morning after the wedding. We are able to offer this for $20 per person which includes a fresh fruit, cooked breakfast, home baked muffins and toast, fruit juice, coffee and tea. Beverages

We are surrounded by fantastic wineries and we can help you with recommendations & introductions so you can have a totally local food and wine experience. We are licensed but you are welcome to provide your own drinks. We do require at least one barman for the function to meet licensing requirements. We can assist to arrange this if necessary.

Accommodation

We provide a range of accommodation at Bringalbit.

The Historic Homestead offers two king & one queen room with 2 bathrooms.

The Homestead also features a formal Dining Room with seating for 18, a Drawing Room, Breakfast Room, and the fascinating “Natural History Museum Room”.

The Gardener’s Cottage is a self-catering queen bed cottage set in the garden adjacent to the Homestead.

The self-catering Shearer’s Shack offers 2 king rooms and bathroom while The Woolshed Hill Cottage offers 3 queen bedrooms all with ensuites. Full accommodation details and rates can be found on our Tariff Sheet.



Everything Else

We’ve been doing functions at our home at Bringalbit for over 20 years so we’re quietly confident that we can answer any requests you may have. We work with trusted local businesses who pull out all stops to support us and our guests. Please ask us if you would like recommendations for wedding celebrants, marquee & equipment hire, photographers, florists, hairdressers, make-up artists and limousines.
