Textiles & flexible materials

20162017 EDITION

CERTIFICATIONS for TECHTERA this year, rewarding the cluster for its excellence in management, quality and continuous improvement.

Gold Label for TECHTERA, a European level certificationThe “CLUSTER MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE LABEL GOLD” is given by the EUROPEAN CLUSTER EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE. It acknowledges the highly sophisticated cluster management of TECHTERA, and the success and commitment of the cluster to further improve its organizational structure and routines. TECHTERA is the first textile cluster to obtain the Label Gold.

TECHTERA is once more ISO 9001 certified (2008 version) for its quality management system

“Change and continuity are certainly the qualities that best characterise TECHTERA and the world of textiles in general.

One of the most striking media examples in recent years is the GOOGLE JACQUARD project, which combines textile know-how with electronics. What is GOOGLE’S aim? Provide new connected materials to stimulate imagination and generate more innovation in fields as varied as aerospace, clothing, and home automation!

In this constantly changing world, we have an obligation to think about our future and to anticipate or invent the resources required. For the past 12 years, TECHTERA has been part of this mission and has been able to rely heavily on its members, funders and its team to invent and create its strategic roadmap. Our work has been recognised, not only through new national and European joint projects but also through missions abroad, allowing us to stay at the forefront of the latest commercial / technological developments.

Our programme for the seven next years will continue to be based on this intelligent mix of new technologies, new applications and new markets. Beyond that, new joint methods, involving even more open partnerships, exchanges and encounters, need to be better understood and better integrated by us all. It is through these strategies that we will gain in agility and speed to remain the Reference Region for the development of new materials and textiles in Europe, Asia and North America.

International network

and outreach

JapanThe « France-Japan innovation year » came to an end in October 2016. For TECHTERA, it was it was a very intense year of work with the cluster’s historical international partner, with 4 major actions:• 1 technological and commercial mission: 6 companies supported by TECHTERA and the

France-Japan CHAMBER OF COMMERCE discovered the Japanese market of health, sports and seniors. Creation of a shared business development service in Japan for 4 SMEs.

• 2 scientific missions: 2 universities and 3 companies went to Japan within the frame of the Fibertronics think-tank on fibers and textiles of the future.

• 1 collective mission for the closing of the France-Japan innovation year with 3 companies.

Interclustering6 interclustering actions were undertaken in 2016 in order to boost intersectorial cooperations on common topics:• EUROTECH: European projects support program, with AXELERA, MINALOGIC, TENNERDIS

and VIAMECA

• CRECOF: French committee for composites recycling, with AEROSPACE VALLEY, ASTECH, AXELERA, EMC2, FIBRES, IAR, I-TRANS, PLASTIPOLIS, TEAM2 and UP-TEX

• COMPOSITES AUVERGNE-RHÔNE-ALPES: cooperation between the sectors of textile, chemistry and plastics with AXELERA and PLASTIPOLIS

• INDUSTRY OF THE FUTURE COLLECTIVE, with AXELERA, IMAGINOVE, MINALOGIC, MONT-BLANC INDUSTRIES, PLASTIPOLIS, TENERRDIS and VIAMECA

• SUSTAINABLE BUILDING NETWORK with 17 clusters

• Partnership with INDURA on the uses of textiles for infrastructures

• Continuation of the partnership with the AFPC (French association of innovation clusters) and the AUVERGNE-RHÔNE-ALPES Europe Network

• Continuation of the collaboration with the members of the already achieved TEXTILES 2020 Programme gathering European textile clusters for the international development of the sector: AEI TEXTILS (Spain), CLUTEX (Czech Republic), FOMENTEX (Spain), INNTEX (Germany), NWTEXNET (United Kingdom), PO.IN.TEX (Italy) and UP-TEX (France)
