WELCOME TO KNOXKnox Church is a congregation within the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand. We aim to create Christian community in which people of all

ages, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds and socio-economic situations are included as equally valued participants in our congregational life. We cherish our diversity, offering a safe place of belonging to any who wish to

explore their beliefs in an atmosphere promoting discussion, the development of healthy relationships and spiritual growth. We strive to be open to dialogue and shared experiences with people of other faiths. We enjoy worshipping the God made known in Jesus, endeavouring to do so in ways that are relevant to our daily lives, respect the integrity of creation, and make a positive difference

to our wider world.

A loop system for hearing aids operates at Knox.

Toilets are available through the door on the lectern side of the sanctuary.

1. God is the refuge of the saints, when storms of sharp distress invade;ere we can offer our complaints, behold him present with his aid!

2. Let mountains from their seats be hurleddown to the deep, and buried there, convulsions shake the solid world, our faith shall never yield to fear.

3. Loud may the troubled ocean roar,in sacred peace our souls abide, while every nation, every shore, trembles and dreads the swelling tide.

4. There is a stream, whose gentle flowmakes glad the city of our God,life, love and joy still gliding through, and watering our divine abode.

5. That sacred stream, thy holy word, our grief allays, our fear controls;sweet peace thy promises afford, and give new strength to fainting souls.

Isaac Watts (1674-1748)Sermon: Glimpsing God

Generally, sermons are posted on our website shortly after the service at: http://www.knoxchurch.co.nz/sermons.htmlHard copies of the sermons are available before and after the service – ask the person at the door.

1. O day of God, draw nighin beauty and in power, come with your timeless judgment nowto match our present hour.

3. Bring justice to our landthat all may dwell secure, and firmly build for days to comefoundations that endure

2. Bring to our troubled minds, uncertain and afraid, the quiet of a steadfast faith, calm of a call obeyed.

4. Bring to our world of strifeyour sovereign word of peace, that war may haunt the earth no moreand desolation cease.

5. O day of God, draw nighas at creation's birth;let there be light again, and set your judgments in the earth.
