On behalf of the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Ain Shams University and ASOGIC team, I am pleased to invite you to join us at the 23rd Ain Shams Obstetrics and Gynaecology International Conference (ASOGIC-23) scheduled to take place on the 24th and 25th of April, 2019 at the Hilton Heliopolis Hotel, Cairo, Egypt.
The story started 22 years ago, and with each edition, ASOGIC has been growing, adding experience, enriching knowledge, raising the bar and aiming to reach the ultimate.
The scientific program will cover cutting edge topics in daily practice. It will offer professionals in the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a multidisciplinary environment to promote women's health by bringing together national and international speakers to exchange knowledge and enhance expertise.
The event provides a comprehensive platform for emerging medical companies to showcase and promote their products in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as its diverse subspecialties.

In its 23rd edition, Ain Shams Obstetrics and Gynecology International Conference (ASOGIC 23) is evolving
into an internationally recognized event through applying for international accreditation. The organizers
of ASOGIC 23 are applying for accreditation by The European Accreditation Council for Continuing
Medical Education (EACCME). In pursuit of this goal, ASOGIC 23 has invited internationally renowned
experts to participate in the invigorating activities dedicated to various subspecialties in Obstetrics and
Gynecology, and to hold internationally accredited and recognized Continuous Medical Education (CME)
workshops in concurrence with the conference.
ASOGIC 23 will address the innovations in this rapidly progressing subspecialty; including challenges in
dealing with women with low ovarian reserve; and poor responders to induction protocols.
State-of-the-art evidence-based treatments of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS),
Ovarian Hyper-Stimulation Syndrome (OHSS) and recurrent implantation failure are some of the topics
of high interest that will be provocatively debated by panels of distinguished international and Egyptian
experts.
Sessions will be devoted to presenting the most novel techniques and
innovative treatments in gynaecological endoscopy, including laparoscopy
and hysteroscopy; with special emphasis directed towards the prevailing
gynecological problems of uterine fibroids and endometriosis. Experts from the
European Society for Gynecological Endoscopy (ESGE); together with Egyptian
experts, are participating in this unique event.

There is a dedicated session for the new developments in the field of gynecological oncology including
new chemotherapy and innovation in radiotherapy treatment. This session is coordinated by the unit of
gynecological oncology at the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Ain Shams University
Sessions will cover daily challenges met by all obstetricians including management of difficult and complex
medical co-morbidities with pregnancy. International experts from the United Nations Population will be
hosted to contribute with Egyptian counterparts in detailing the challenges and opportunities facing the
overwhelming obstetric practice in Egypt.
Sessions will unveil innovative progress in this ever emerging field; including newer contraceptive
methods recently released to the markets.
In anticipation of extremely interesting sessions, addressing the highly technical
practices of this sub-specialty, especially after all the controversy arising on the
use of surgical mesh; ASOGIC 23 is tackling this hot debate by introducing a group
of international authorities who will be intensely contributing to this stimulating
session through experts from the UK, Norway, Netherlands, France and Germany.
A challenging sub-specialty that includes discussion of difficult cases and “in-utero” interventions with
ultrasound support for solution.

Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology:
Research and Education:
Realizing the issues arising from increased longevity, and considering the immense change regarding the
use of hormones in the field of menopausal health; ASOGIC 23 will contribute to promoting the exchange of
research and professional experience between international and Egyptian experts dedicated to the study
of the menopause and its dilemmas.
An under-developed subspecialty in Egypt, facing many challenges and limitations, ASOGIC 23 will introduce
a model International practice by hosting the International experts of the British Society. Extremely
important issues dealing with adolescent hormonal and anatomical problems will be addressed by the
prominent international experts.
ASOGIC 23 recognizes that medical research and education is the core of the profession of Obstetrics
and Gynecology. This session will give us new ideas and advice on how to get your work published and
rewarded. Evidence Based medicine and systematic reviews will be introduced through a Cochrane
Collaboration sponsored workshop executed by an internationally acclaimed Cochrane and Royal College
recognized expert.

Insurance The congress organizers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained or for loss of or damage to property belonging to Congress participants (or their accompanying persons) either during the congress meetings or post congress activities. Please obtain proper travel and health insurance prior to your trip.
Banks and Currency Exchange The currency is the Egyptian pound (EGP). Foreign currency can be exchanged at the airport or the front desk of your hotel. Local banks are open from 08.30 to 14.00 hrs from Sunday to Thursday. There are also private foreign exchange offices throughout the city that operate between 08.00 to 20.00 hrs.
Credit Cards All major credit cards (Visa, Master Card) are accepted, but generally only in bigger hotels or restaurants in Cairo and restaurants in tourist areas.

Safety and Security The general security situation throughout Egypt is stable. The touristic areas are well guarded and safe.
Health Care Medical Service system is well organized and response time is less than 5 minutes in most of the city. There are many private hospitals with excellent facilities in Cairo but also has public hospitals. The hospitals have international. standards in terms of expertise and equipment. They have contracts with various national and international insurance companies.
