Information produced by output devices

Standard output devices are not necessarily suitable for use by everyone. Users with impairments may not be able to use output devices as intended.
For example, visual impairment can affect a user’s ability to view information on a display. Solutions include:
screen readers – these identify what is happening on the display and produce an audio description
magnifiers – these make the display larger so that text and images can be read more easily.

Visual impairment can also affect a user’s ability to operate input devices. Solutions include:
Input devices for specific needs
Input devices also have to be adapted for those with specific needs. For example, motor impairment can affect a user’s ability to operate input devices. Solutions include:
eye-typer – a camera that tracks the focus of the user’s eyes to determine the actions they need to perform.
voice input – commands are spoken into a microphone that trigger actions to be performed by the computer.
Braille keyboard – raised patterns are added to each key.
