Fish are cold-blooded. They breathe through their gills. They have fins and tails. Their bodies are streamlined. Their skin is covered with hard scales. Most fish reproduce by laying eggs.

Warm-blooded vertebrates are called mammals.

Mammals have hair and fur and their young are fed on milk.

Amphibians are cold-blooded vertebrates which can live both on land and in water.

Most amphibians spend their adult lives on land and return to the water to lay eggs.

They usually have loose and moist skin.

Reptiles are cold-blooded animals. They have dry, scaly skin. They reproduce by laying eggs on land.

Birds are vertebrates that lay eggs with shells.

They are warm-blooded. They are the only animals with feathers. They have beaks and wings but not all birds

can fly.
