Aggarwal College Ballabgarh is celebrating ‘Swachchhta hi Sewa Campaign and 150th Birth
Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi - Father of the Nation’, under which a Rally was organised
today i.e. 3rd October, 2019. It was carried out by around 500 volunteers of NSS, YRS,
RRC and Swachchhta Senani team of the College under their coordinators raising the
slogans on ‘Healthy India - Clean India’, Ban on Use of Plastic, Water Conservation and
Plant More Trees. The volunteers raised awareness among the shopkeepers and other
people. They took out rallies in different directions starting from college to Ambedkar Chowk,
Agrasen Chowk and Mohna road. They also collected plastic bags and bottles littered in the
college campus. Flagging off the rally, Principal Dr. Krishan Kant said that plastic is our
enemy and we should use alternate and eco friendly products like jute bags, paper bags
etc. An exhibition of books on the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi was also organised
in the library in order to motivate students about the simple lifestyle of Gandhiji and also to
create awareness about environment conservation. A Nukkad Natak on ill effects of
pollution was also organised and a pledge was also taken to this effect. Ms. Kamal Tandon,
Head Department of English and all the coordinators helped in the smooth conduct of the
event.
Under the able guidance of Principal, Aggarwal College Ballabgarh, Dr. krishan Kant Gupta
“Energy Conservation Club” organized a rally and two competitions - Poster Making &
Slogan Writing on 23/01/2020 to inculcate the habit of Water Conservation and make the
masses aware of the critical situation the world is facing today. The theme of the event was
“Understanding Managing and Conserving Water Resources.” The rally was flagged off by
Mrs Kamal Tondon (HOD English Department) & Dr. Naresh Kamra (Maths department).

22 students took part in ‘Poster Making’ and 16 students took part in ‘Slogan Writing’. The
event was adjudged by Mrs Kiran Anand (department of hindi), Dr. Sanjeev Gupta
(department of Physics) & Dr. Meenu Aggarwal (department of Chemistry). In Poster
Making Competition Riya B.Sc. 1st Chem. (H) stood 1 st , Rachna B.Sc. (NM) 1st Year
stood 2nd , Kajal B.Com. 1st got 3rd Prize and Consolation Prize was given to Pinki B.Com.
1 st Year and Kanika B.Sc. 1st. In slogan writing Mayank B.Sc. 1 st Chem. (H) stood 1 st ,
Kanchan B.Sc. 3 rd (NMSF) stood 2nd , Shelly B.Sc. 1 st Year NM stood 3rd & Shweta B.Sc
2 nd Chem. (H) got Consolation Prize. Dr. Poonam Anand, convenor Energy Conservation
Club thanked the faculty Mrs. Geeta Rathi, Mrs Manshi Tyagi, Mr Chander Attri, Ms Shivani
and students to make the event a great success.
On 29.01.2020, An Awareness Programme on e-waste Management was organised under
the Swachchhta Senani Team of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh on 29.01.2020 in
collaboration with an NGO-Action in Community and Training, New Delhi. This NGO is an
awareness partner on the issue of e-waste with Karo Shambhav. Through a presentation
on E-waste awareness and interactive games, Ms. Gurmeet Kaur and Mr. Tapas Chatterji
had a healthy discussion with around 150 students present. She said that besides pollution,
diseases also spread due to e-waste. She also apprised audience to deposit their e-waste
to authorised waste management departments. She further added that we should buy only
on need basis and not for desires. The programme was conducted by Dr. Sanjeev Gupta
and Dr. Sarika Kanjlia. Also present was Dr. Inayat Chaudhary.
A Declamation Competition was organised by Department of English and Swachchhta
Senani Team of Aggarwal College Ballabgarh on 28th September, 2019 under the direction
of College Principal Dr. Krishan Kant Gupta. Students of different streams participated and
expressed their views on ‘Artificial Intelligence-Good or Bad, Social Networking Sites,
Polythene Bags should be banned and Significance of English Language’. The students
presented innovative ideas on above topics. Such competitions are organised to provide a
healthy platform to students through which their confidence level, speaking skill and
knowledge improve. The members of jury Dr.Geeta Gupta and Dr Rekha Sen adjudged the
participants and declared the winners. Miss Priya of B.A. II was awarded first prize,
Bhawana of B.Com I second, Ritika Nagar of B.A. II third. Sikha of B.Com II and Pragati of
B.A. II were awarded with consolation prizes.
