사도신경(The Apostles' creed)

신앙고백

나는 전능하신 아버지 하나님 , 천지의 창조주를 믿습니다 .I believe in God the Father

Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,

나는 그의 유일하신 아들 , 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 믿습니다 .and in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord,

그는 성령으로 잉태되어 동정녀 마리아에게서 나시고 ,who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,

본디오 빌라도에게 고난을 받아 십자가에 못 박혀 죽으시고 ,suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried.

장사된 지 사흘 만에 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살아나셨으며 ,He descended into hell.The third day, He rose again from the dead;

하늘에 오르시어 전능하신 아버지 하나님 우편에 앉아 계시다가 ,He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

거기로부터 살아 있는 자와 죽은 자를 심판하러 오십니다 .from thence He shall come judge the quick and the dead.

나는 성령을 믿으며 , 거룩한 공교회와 성도의 교제와I believe in the Holy Spirit; The Holy Catholic Church; The Communion of Saints;

죄를 용서받는 것과 몸의 부활과 영생을 믿습니다 . 아멘 .The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body;And the life everlasting. Amen.

요한복음 19:17~30

요한복음 19:17그들이 예수를 맡으매 예수께서 자기의 십자가를 지시고 해골（히브리 말로 골고다）이라 하는 곳에 나가시니

Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha).

요한복음 19:18그들이 거기서 예수를 십자가에 못 박을새 다른 두 사람도 그와 함께 좌우편에 못 박으니 예수는 가운데 있더라

Here they crucified him, and with him two others--one on each side and Jesus in the middle.

요한복음 19:19빌라도가 패를 써서 십자가 위에 붙이니 나사렛 예수 유대인의 왕이라 기록되었더라

Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read:|sc JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

요한복음 19:20예수께서 못 박히신 곳이 성에서 가까운 고로 많은 유대인이 이 패를 읽는데 히브리와 로마와 헬라 말로 기록되었더라

Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek.

요한복음 19:21유대인의 대제사장들이 빌라도에게 이르되 유대인의 왕이라 쓰지 말고 자칭 유대인의 왕이라 쓰라 하니

The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, "Do not write 'The King of the Jews,' but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews."

요한복음 19:22빌라도가 대답하되 내가 쓸 것을 썼다 하니라

Pilate answered, "What I have writ-ten, I have written."

요한복음 19:23군인들이 예수를 십자가에 못 박고 그의 옷을 취하여 네 깃에 나눠 각각 한 깃씩 얻고 속옷도 취하니 이 속옷은 호지 아니하고 위에서부터 통으로 짠 것이라 When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

요한복음 19:24군인들이 서로 말하되 이것을 찢지 말고 누가 얻나 제비 뽑자 하니 이는 성경에 그들이 내 옷을 나누고 내 옷을 제비 뽑나이다 한 것을 응하게 하려 함이러라 군인들은 이런 일을 하고"Let's not tear it," they said to one another. "Let's decide by lot who will get it." This hap-pened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said, "They divided my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing." So this is what the soldiers did.

요한복음 19:25예수의 십자가 곁에는 그 어머니와 이모와 글로바의 아내 마리아와 막달라 마리아가 섰는지라

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Mag-dalene.

요한복음 19:26예수께서 자기의 어머니와 사랑하시는 제자가 곁에 서 있는 것을 보시고 자기 어머니께 말씀하시되 여자여 보소서 아들이니이다 하시고When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son,"

요한복음 19:27또 그 제자에게 이르시되 보라 네 어머니라 하신대 그 때부터 그 제자가 자기 집에 모시니라

and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

요한복음 19:28그 후에 예수께서 모든 일이 이미 이루어진 줄 아시고 성경을 응하게 하려 하사 이르시되 내가 목마르다 하시니

Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scrip-ture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty."

요한복음 19:29거기 신 포도주가 가득히 담긴 그릇이 있는지라 사람들이 신 포도주를 적신 해면을 우슬초에 매어 예수의 입에 대니

A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus' lips.

요한복음 19:30예수께서 신 포도주를 받으신 후에 이르시되 다 이루었다 하시고 머리를 숙이니 영혼이 떠나가시니라

When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
