  • *From the point of view of practice all-solid-state electrochromic devices comprise the most convenient type. This requirement reduces the number of possible variants of the electrochromic systems and their components. Further limitations are connected with: 1) conductivity of solid electrolyte and its transparence, which determines the width of dynamic range of variation of optical characteristics of the electrochromic device.2) width of temperature range of the device operation3) mechanical characteristics. The above mentioned factors determine such important characteristics of electrochromic systems as operation voltage, rate of coloration and the number of color change cycles. So far, most of the known all-solid-state electrochromic systems do not satisfy the whole complex of the above requirements. State of ArtIncreasingly growing interest is now expressed in the World to investigations in the field of electrochromic materials and to development on their base of new devices for displaying information and light modulation. This interest is due to a number of advantages of electrochromic devices based on the above materials in comparison with the liquid crystals based analogs: The above mentioned factors determine such important characteristics of electrochromic systems as operation voltage, rate of coloration and the number of color change cycles.
