近年、GAFA（グーグル、アップル、フェイスブック、アマゾン）

に代表される巨大 IT企業が生み出す、意思のようなビッグ

データが存在感を増しつつあります。私たちの自己決定は

知らず知らずのうちに、匿名のベールに包まれた他者へと

委ねられていくのでしょうか。顔のない集団の言語に過敏に

反応するあまり、人々は疲弊し、自身すらも匿名のベールで

覆うようになりはじめました。

本テーマ「E Lection of Anonymous」は、匿名のハッカー集

団「アノニマス」による「選挙」、そして「感覚的な興奮状態」

を意味します。それは「無政府論者達が選挙する」という滑

稽な行為以上に、選挙を放棄し、顔の見えない他者の決定

に不服なりとも従わざるを得ない私たちをも揶揄する言葉

です。

衣、食、住、そして藝術においても、選ぶことの放棄は、す

なわちアイデンティティーの喪失を意味します。個性の埋没

は、時に集団を狂気へと駆りたてます。顔という身体のアイ

コンが剥ぎ取られた瞬間に、私たちは巨大な集団概念とな

り、いじめから戦争までさまざまな暴力へ突き進んでいくの

です。しかし、ひとたび、そのベールを剥ぎ取れば、血の通っ

たあどけないひとりの人間の素顔が垣間見えるはずです。

それゆえに、個性は取り戻されねばならないのです。

本展が、鑑賞者一人ひとりのBPM（＝心拍数）を上昇させる

程のエネルギーが、ご覧いただいた方々の個性を再び勃興

させ、新しい時代の選択肢を見出すエネルギーの生まれる

場となることを願っています。

「Future Artists Tokyo」展は、芸術を志す学生たちが、より実践的な経験を積み、国際的に活躍できるアーティストとキュレーション人材を創出することを目的とした展覧会です。6校が参加した初回に続き、第2回目となる本展では、19大学の各校代表学生101名の中から選抜された38名と、アートプロデュースを学ぶ 7名の学生が参加します。全国より、将来を期待される学生達が集結し、「アートフェア東京2019」の入り口を飾ります。　一般社団法人アート東京は、本展を2018年より実施し、日本のアートシーンが、新しい才能と共に成長していくことに、今後とも寄与して参ります。

“Future Artists Tokyo” is an exhibition aimed at building up an opportunity to have more practical

experience for the students who are aspiring to careers in the arts and creating global artists and curators.

From the first time of the exhibition, starting with 6 art colleges, this second edition will include 7

students who are studying art production and 38 students’ artworks selected from 101 candidates from

19 art colleges. From all over the country, the students promising their futures will gather and decorate

the entrance of “Art Fair Tokyo 2019” .

Art Tokyo Association will continue to contribute and grow along with these rising new talents of

Japan’s art scene.

In recent years, a ‘sense of presence’ towards the

seemingly-conscious big data, born from massive IT industries

lead by GAFA (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon) continues to

rise. Will our self-determination be entrusted, unawares, to

‘others’ wrapped in a veil of anonymity? Overreacting and

over-delicate to the words of the faceless crowd, we the people

too, have grown weary and began to shroud ourselves in a veil

of anonymity.

This exhibition “E Lection of Anonymous” takes its meaning

from the ‘elections’ held by the identity-less hacker group,

Anonymous¸ as well as from the ‘state of sensorial arousal’ .

Beyond just the humor at the act of ‘an anarchist group holding

elections’ , the title also jests at we ourselves who, in

abandoning our right to choose, have no other choice but to

obey the decisions of faceless others.

Clothing, Food, Shelter and Art: abandoning the right to choose

these is, put another way, the loss of the identity. The burial of

individuality can drive the group to madness. The moment the

icon of the body, the face, is stripped away, we turn to

large-group thinking, a path that leads to a multitude of

violence starting from bullying and ending in war. However, for

a brief moment, if that veil is cast off, one will catch a quick

glimpse of a single innocent flesh-and-blood human. That is

why we must reclaim our individuality.

The energy of this exhibition, which is high enough to raise the

BPM (=heart rate) of each visitor, suddenly reinvigorates the

individuality of each and every attendee. We sincerely hope

that this will be a place that will bring forth the energy to

discover choices for a new era.
