Nutrition terms

• Autotrophic=producing own food such as plants

• Heterotrophic =eats preformed organic material (contains carbon in covalent linkage)

• Saprotrophic=absorb nutrients from dead organisms (fungi and bacteria)

• Chemosynthetic=getting energy from the oxidation of hydrogen sulfide gas (H2S)

NUTRITION

• OMNIVORE-EATS PLANTS AND ANIMALS• HERBIVORE-EATS PLANTS• CARNIVORE-EATS MEAT

Nutrition

• Herbivore=eats plants • Carnivore=eats meat• Omnivore =eats both plants and animals

ECOSYSTEMS

• LIVING AND NONLIVING TOGETHER• LIVING-PLANTS, ANIMALS, BACTERIA,FUNGI• NONLIVING-

AIR,LAND,GRAVITY,ROCKS,TEMPERATURE, ETC.• BIOTIC=LIVING• ABIOTIC=NONLIVING
