10 終わりに言います。主にあって、その大能の力によって強められなさい。Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 悪魔の策略に対して立ち向かうことができるために、神のすべての武具を身に着けなさい。Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

12 私たちの格闘は血肉に対するものではなく、主権、力、この暗やみの世界の支配者たち、また、天にいるもろもろの悪霊に対するものです。

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 ですから、邪悪な日に際して対抗できるように、また、いっさいを成し遂げて、堅く立つことができるように、神のすべての武具をとりなさい。Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 では、しっかりと立ちなさい。腰には真理の帯を締め、胸には正義の胸当てを着け、Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 足には平和の福音の備えをはきなさい。and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

16 これらすべてのものの上に、信仰の大盾を取りなさい。それによって、悪い者が放つ火矢を、みな消すことができます。In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 救いのかぶとをかぶり、また御霊の与える剣である、神のことばを受け取りなさい。Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 すべての祈りと願いを用いて、どんなときにも御霊によって祈りなさい。そのためには絶えず目をさましていて、すべての聖徒のために、忍耐の限りを尽くし、また祈りなさい。And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

19 また、私が口を開くとき、語るべきことばが与えられ、福音の奥義を大胆に知らせることができるように私のためにも祈ってください。Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 私は鎖につながれて、福音のために大使の役を果たしています。鎖につながれていても、語るべきことを大胆に語れるように、祈ってください。for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

21 あなたがたにも私の様子や、私が何をしているかなどを知っていただくために、主にあって愛する兄弟であり、忠実な奉仕者であるテキコが、一部始終を知らせるでしょう。Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.

22 テキコをあなたがたのもとに遣わしたのは、ほかでもなく、あなたがたが私たちの様子を知り、また彼によって心に励ましを受けるためです。I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you.

23 どうか、父なる神と主イエス・キリストから、平安と信仰に伴う愛とが兄弟たちの上にありますように。

Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 私たちの主イエス・キリストを朽ちぬ愛をもって愛するすべての人の上に、恵みがありますように。Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
