LEGAL RIGHTS

1. Your Legal Rights UnderThese Limited Warranties

The warranties contained in this booklet are the onlyexpress warranties that Chrysler Motors LLC ("Chrysler")makes for your vehicle. These warranties give you specificlegal rights. You may also have other rights that vary fromstate to state. For example, you may have some impliedwarranties, depending on the state where your vehicle wassold or is registered.

These implied warranties are limited, to the extent allowedby law, to the time periods covered by the express writtenwarranties contained in this booklet.

If you use your vehicle primarily for business or commer-cial purposes, then these implied warranties do not applyand Chrysler completely disclaims them to the extentallowed by law. And the implied warranty of fitness for aparticular purpose does not apply if your vehicle is used forracing, even if the vehicle is equipped for racing.

Some states do not allow limitations on how long animplied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may notapply to you.

1.1 Incidental and ConsequentialDamages Not CoveredYour warranties don’t cover any incidental orconsequential damages connected with your vehicle’sfailure, either while under warranty or afterward.Examples of such damages include:• lost time;• inconvenience;• the loss of the use of your vehicle;• the cost of rental vehicles, gasoline, telephone,

travel, or lodging;• the loss of personal or commercial property; and• the loss of revenue.Some states don’t allow incidental or consequentialdamages to be excluded or limited, so this exclusionmay not apply to you.

2. What's Covered UnderChrysler's Warranties

2.1 Basic Limited Warranty

A. Who Is Covered?You are covered by the Basic Limited Warranty ifyou are a purchaser for use of the vehicle.

B. What’s CoveredThe Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost of allparts and labor needed to repair any item on yourvehicle when it left the manufacturing plant that isdefective in material, workmanship or factorypreparation. There is no list of covered parts since

the only exception is tires. You pay nothing for theserepairs. These warranty repairs or adjustments —including all parts and labor connected with them — willbe made by your dealer at no charge, using new orremanufactured parts.

C. Items Covered by Other WarrantiesThe following are covered by separate warrantiesoffered by their makers. They are not covered by theBasic Limited Warranty:

• tires; or• items added or changed after your vehicle left

the manufacturing plant, such as accessories orprotection products, or items changed because ofcustomization or van conversion.

Be sure you get a copy of any warranty that appliesto these items from your dealer, or from the maker ofthe product. You can find the tire warranty state-ments in your Owner’s Literature Package.

D. Towing Costs Are Covered Under CertainCircumstancesThe Basic Limited Warranty covers the cost oftowing your vehicle to the nearest Chrysler, Dodgeor Jeep dealer if your vehicle can’t be drivenbecause a covered part has failed. If you choose togo to another dealership, you will be responsiblefor the cost if the extra distance exceeds 10 miles.See Section 6.2 for information on how to gettowing service in the United States and Canada.

F. When It EndsThe Basic Limited Warranty lasts for 36 monthsfrom the date it begins or for 36,000 miles on theodometer, whichever occurs first. But the followingitems are covered only for 12 months or for 12,000miles on the odometer, whichever occurs first:

• brakes (rotors, pads, linings, and drums);• wiper blades;• clutch discs or modular clutch assembly (as

equipped);• windshield and rear window; and• wheel alignment and wheel balancing

E. When It BeginsThe Basic Limited Warranty begins on either of thefollowing dates, whichever is earlier:

• the date you take delivery of the vehicle; or• the date when the vehicle was first put into

service — for example, as a dealer “demo” or as aChrysler company vehicle.

G. Registration and Operation RequirementsThe Basic Limited Warranty covers your vehicle onlyif:

• it was built for sale in the U.S.;• it’s registered in the U.S.;• it’s driven mainly in the U.S. or Canada; and• it’s operated and maintained in the manner

described in your Owner’s Manual.

H. If Your Vehicle Leaves the United States(We Include U.S. Possessions and Territoriesas Part of the United States for WarrantyPurposes):EXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLYREQUIREDBY LAW, THERE IS NO WARRANTYCOVERAGE ON THIS VEHICLE IF IT ISSOLD IN OR REGISTERED IN COUNTRIESOTHER THAN THE UNITED STATES.

This policy does not apply to vehicles that havereceived authorization for export from Chrysler.Dealers may not give authorization for export. Youshould consult an authorized dealer to determine thisvehicle's warranty coverage if you have any questions.

This policy does not apply to vehicles registered toU.S. government officials or military personnel onassignment outside of the United States.

2.2 Corrosion Warranty

A. Who Is Covered?You are covered if you are a purchaser for use ofthe vehicle.

B. What's CoveredThis warranty covers the cost of all parts and laborneeded to repair or replace any sheet metal panelsthat get holes from rust or other corrosion. If a holeoccurs because of something other than corrosion,this warranty does not apply. Cosmetic or surfacecorrosion — resulting, for example, from stonechips or scratches in the paint — is not covered.For more details on what isn’t covered by thiswarranty, see 3.5.

C. How Long It LastsThe Corrosion Warranty starts when your BasicLimited Warranty begins under 2.1(E). For sheetmetal panels, the limit is 36 months, with nomileage limit.

2.3 Restraint System Limited Warranty(Vehicles sold and registered in theState of Kansas only)

For vehicles sold and registered in the State ofKansas, seatbelts and related seatbelt componentsare warranted against defects in workmanship andmaterials for 10 years, regardless of mileage. Thiswarranty does not cover replacement of seatbelts andrelated components required as the result of collision.

3. What's Not Covered3.1 Modifications Not Covered

A. Some Modifications Don’t Void theWarranties But Aren’t CoveredCertain changes that you might make to yourvehicle do not, by themselves, void the warrantiesdescribed in this booklet. Examples of some ofthese changes are:

• installing non-Chrysler MotorsLLC ("Chrysler") parts,components, or equipment (such as a non-Chrysler radio or speed control); and

• using special non-Chrysler materials oradditives.

But your warranties don’t cover any part that wasnot on your vehicle when it left the manufacturingplant or is not certified for use on your vehicle. Nordo they cover the costs of any repairs or adjustmentsthat might be caused or needed because of theinstallation or use of non-Chrysler parts, compo-nents, equipment, materials, or additives.

Performance or racing parts are considered to benon-Chrysler parts. Repairs or adjustments causedby their use are not covered under your warranties.

Examples of the types of alterations not covered are:• installing accessories — except for genuine

Chrysler / MOPAR accessories installed byan authorized Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer;

• applying rustproofing or other protectionproducts;

• changing the vehicle's configuration ordimensions, such as converting the vehicle intoa limousine or food service vehicle; or

• using any refrigerant that Chrysler hasnot approved.

B. Modifications That WILL Void YourWarrantiesThese actions will void your warranties:• disconnecting, tampering with, or altering the

odometer will void your warranties, unless yourrepairing technician follows the legal require-ments for repairing or replacing odometers; or

• attaching any device that disconnects theodometer will also void your warranties.

3.2 Environmental Factors Not CoveredYour warranties don’t cover damage caused byenvironmental factors such as airborne fallout, birddroppings, chemicals, tree sap, salt, ocean spray, acidrain, and road hazards. Nor do your warranties coverdamage caused by hailstorms, windstorms, tornadoes,sandstorms, lightning, floods, and earthquakes.

Your warranties do not cover conditions resultingfrom anything impacting the vehicle. This includescracks and chips in glass, scratches and chips inpainted surfaces, or damage from collision.

• lubrication;• engine tune-ups;• replacing filters, coolant, spark plugs, bulbs, or

fuses (unless those costs result from a coveredrepair);

• cleaning and polishing; and• replacing worn wiper blades, worn brake pads

and linings, or clutch linings.

3.3 Maintenance Costs Not CoveredYour warranties don’t cover the costs of repairingdamage caused by poor or improper maintenance. Nordo they cover damage caused by the use of contami-nated fuels, or by the use of fuels, oils, lubricants,cleaners or fluids other than those recommended inyour Owner’s Manual.

The warranties don’t cover the costs of yourvehicle’s normal or scheduled maintenance — theparts and services that all vehicles routinely need.Some of these parts and services, which your warran-ties don’t cover, include:

3.4 Racing Not CoveredYour warranties don’t cover the costs of repairingdamage or conditions caused by racing, nor do theycover the repair of any defects that are found as theresult of participating in a racing event.

3.5 Certain Kinds of Corrosion NotCoveredYour warranties don’t cover the following:

• corrosion caused by accident, damage, abuse,or vehicle alteration;

• surface corrosion caused by such things asindustrial fallout, sand, salt, hail, and stones;

• corrosion caused by the extensive or abnormaltransport of caustic materials like chemicals,acids, and fertilizers; and

• corrosion of special bodies, body conversions,or equipment that was not on your vehicle when itleft the manufacturing plant or was not supplied byChrysler Motors LLC or Chrysler.

3.6 Other ExclusionsYour warranties don’t cover the costs of repairingdamage or conditions caused by any of the following:

• fire or accident;• abuse or negligence;• misuse — for example, driving over curbs or

overloading;

WHAT'S NOT COVERED

• tampering with the emission systems, or witha part that could affect the emission systems;

• use of used parts, even if they were originallysupplied by Chrysler (however, authorizedChrysler / MOPAR remanufactured partsare covered);

• windshield or rear window damage from externalobjects;

• any changes made to your vehicle that don’tcomply with Chrysler; or

• using any fluid that doesn't meet the minimumrecommendations in your Owner's Manual.

3.7 Total Loss, Salvage, Junk, or ScrapVehicles Not CoveredA vehicle has no warranty coverage of any kind if:

• the vehicle is declared to be a total loss by aninsurance company;

• the vehicle is rebuilt after being declared to be atotal loss by an insurance company; or

• the vehicle is issued a certificate of title indicat-ing that it is designated as “salvage,” “junk,”“rebuilt,” “scrap,” or some similar word.

Chrysler will deny warranty coverage without notice ifit learns that a vehicle is ineligible for coverage for anyof these reasons.

3.8 Restricted WarrantyYour warranties can also be restricted by Chrysler.Chrysler may restrict the warranty on your vehicle if thevehicle is not properly maintained, or if the vehicle isabused or neglected, and the abuse or neglect interfereswith the proper functioning of the vehicle. If thewarranty is restricted, coverage may be denied orsubject to approval by Chrysler before covered repairsare performed.

4. Other Terms of YourWarranties

4.1 Exchanged Parts May Be Used inWarranty RepairsIn the interest of customer satisfaction,Chrysler Motors LLC ("Chrysler") may offer exchangeservice on some vehicle parts. This service isintended to reduce the amount of time your vehicle isnot available for your use because of repairs. Partsused in exchange service may be new, remanufac-tured, reconditioned, or repaired, depending on thepart involved.

All exchange parts that might be used meet Chryslerstandards, and have the same warranties as newparts.

Examples of the kinds of parts that might beserviced in this way are:

• engine assemblies;• transmission assemblies;• instrument cluster assemblies;• radios, tape, CD and DVD players;• speedometers; and• powertrain control modules.

To help control suspected ozone-depleting agents,the EPA requires the capture, purification, andreuse of automotive air-conditioning refrigerantgases. As a result, a repair to the sealed portion ofyour air-conditioning system may involve theinstallation of purified reclaimed refrigerant.

4.2 Pre-Delivery ServiceA defect in or damage to the mechanical, electrical,sheet-metal, paint, trim, and other components of yourvehicle may have occurred at the factory or while itwas being shipped to the dealer.

Such a defect or damage is usually detected andcorrected at the factory. In addition, dealers mustinspect each vehicle before delivery. They repair anydefects or damage detected before the vehicle isdelivered to you.

4.3 Production ChangesChanges may be made in vehicles sold by Chrysler andits dealers at any time without incurring any obligationto make the same or similar changes on vehiclespreviously built or sold.

5. Emission Warranties RequiredBy Law

5.1 Federal Emission Warranty

A. Parts Covered for 2 Years or 24,000 MilesFederal law requires Chrysler Motors LLC("Chrysler") to warrant the following emissionsparts for 2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever occursfirst. Chrysler covers all of these parts under theBasic Limited Warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles,whichever occurs first.

• Air system controls;• distributor and its components;• electronic fuel injection system, including

injector;• evaporative-emission canister and controls;• exhaust manifold;• exhaust gas recirculation valve and control

system;• exhaust pipes (between exhaust manifold and

catalyst);• fuel cap and tank assembly, pump, and fuel

lines;• ignition coil and ignition module;• intake manifold;• on-board diagnostic-system components;• oxygen sensors;

• positive crankcase-ventilation (PCV) valve or orifice;• secondary ignition wires;• spark plugs;• throttle body;• transmission-control module;• vacuum hoses, clamps, and fittings, as well as

tubing used for these components;• vacuum, temperature, altitude, speed, time-

sensitive valves, sensors, and switches used inthese components and systems.

B. Parts Covered for 8 years or 80,000 milesIf your vehicle has one of the following parts, thisFederal Emission Warranty covers that part for aperiod of 8 years or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs

first, calculated from the start date of the Basic LimitedWarranty as set forth in Section 2.1(E). The coveredparts are:

• catalytic converter; and• powertrain control module.

C. Additional Emission WarrantiesIf your vehicle is equipped with a California CertifiedEmission Control System and is registered in California,Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, RhodeIsland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Oregon or Washing-ton the California Emission Warranty — described inSection 5.3 — also applies.

5.2 Emission Performance WarrantyThis warranty supplements the federal warranty under5.1. It lasts for 2 years or 24,000 miles on the odom-eter, whichever occurs first. If your vehicle has one ofthe following parts, catalytic converter and powertraincontrol module, this Federal Emission Warrantycovers that part for a period of 8 years or 80,000 miles,whichever occurs first. These limits are counted fromthe time when your Basic Limited Warranty beginsunder 2.1(E). The Emission Performance Warrantycovers the cost of repairing or adjusting any compo-nents or parts that might be needed for your vehicleto pass Federal Emission Standards for a federallyapproved state or local emissions test, but only if:

• your vehicle has failed a federally approved stateor local emissions test;

• your vehicle has been maintained and operatedproperly up until it fails such a test; and

• you face a real penalty — for example, a fine orthe loss of the use of your vehicle — because thevehicle has failed the test.

Section 6.4 explains how to get service under thiswarranty.

5.3 California Emission Warranty

Your Warranty Rights and Obligations (AppliesOnly to Vehicles Certified for Sale and Regis-tered in the State of California)The California Air Resources Board is pleased to explainthe emission control system warranty on your 2009 modelvehicle. In California, new motor vehicles must bedesigned, built and equipped to meet the State's stringentanti-smog standards. Chrysler Motors LLC ("Chrysler")must warrant the emission control system on your vehiclefor the periods of time listed below provided there hasbeen no abuse, neglect or improper maintenance of yourvehicle.

Your emission control system may include parts suchas the fuel-injection system, the ignition system,

catalytic converter, and powertrain control module. Alsoincluded may be hoses, belts, connectors and otheremission-related assemblies.

Where a warrantable condition exists, Chrysler will repairyour vehicle at no cost to you, including diagnosis, partsand labor.

MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE

For 3 years or 50,000 miles, whichever firstoccurs:

1. If your vehicle fails a Smog Check inspection, all neces-sary repairs and adjustments will be made byChrysler to ensure that your vehicle passesthe inspection. This is your emission control systemPERFORMANCE WARRANTY.

2. If any emission-related part on your vehicle isdefective, the part will be repaired or replaced byChrysler. This is your short-term emissioncontrol system DEFECTS WARRANTY.

For 7 years or 70,000 miles, whichever first occurs:

1. If an emission-related part listed in this warrantybooklet specially noted with coverage for 7 years or70,000 miles is defective, the part will be repaired orreplaced by Chrysler. This is your long-termemission control system DEFECTS WARRANTY.

Owner's Warranty Responsibilities:

-- As the vehicle owner, you are responsible for theperformance of the required maintenance listedin your owner's manual. Chrysler recom-mends that you retain all receipts covering mainte-nance on your vehicle, but Chrysler cannotdeny warranty solely for the lack of receipts or foryour failure to ensure the performance of allscheduled maintenance.

-- You are responsible for presenting your vehicleto a Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer as soon as aproblem exists. The warranty repairs should becompleted in a reasonable amount of time, not toexceed 30 days.

-- As the vehicle owner, you should also be awarethat Chrysler may deny your warrantycoverage if your vehicle or a part has failed dueto abuse, neglect, improper maintenance orunapproved modifications.

6.1 Where to Take Your Vehicle

A. In the United States (We Include U.S.Possessions and Territories as Part ofthe United States for Warranty Purposes):Warranty service must be done by an authorizedChrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer. We stronglyrecommend that you take your vehicle to yourSelling Dealer. They know you and your vehiclebest, and are most concerned that you getprompt and high quality service. • If the authorized dealership charges you forrepairs which you feel should be covered underyour warranty, please get a detailed receipt for thework done. Make sure that this receipt lists allwarranty repairs and parts that were involved.(This receipt will be similar to the one used by thedealer who normally services your vehicle.)• When your vehicle returns to the United States,contact the Chrysler Customer Assistance Cen-ter (section 7.2) for reimbursement consideration.You will normally need to provide a copy of thereceipt, your vehicle registration and any otherrel-evant documents.• Reimbursement will not be considered if thevehicle does not return to the United States.

D. If You Move:If you move to another country, be sure to contactthe Chrysler Customer Assistance Center (section7.2) and the customs department of the destinationcountry before you move. Vehicle importation rulesvary considerably from country to country. You maybe required to present documentation of your moveto Chrysler in order to continue your warrantycoverage. 6.2 How To Get Tow Service - U.S. orCanada Only *

A. What To Do:If your vehicle requires towing due to a defectcovered under the Basic Limited Warranty, dial toll-free 1-800-521-2779. Provide your name, vehicleidentification number, license plate number, and yourlocation, including the telephone number from whichyou are calling. Briefly describe the nature of theproblem and answer a few simple questions.

You will be given the name of the service providerand an estimated time of arrival. If you feel you are inan "unsafe situation", please let us know. With yourconsent, we will contact local police or safety authorities.

B. If Unable to Contact 24-Hour Towing Assistance:If you are unable to contact 24-Hour Towing Assis-tance and you obtain towing services on your own,you may submit your original receipts from thelicensed towing or service facility, for servicesrendered within 30 days of the occurrence. Be sure to

6.5 Getting Service Under the CaliforniaEmission Warranty

A. What to Do If You Fail a Smog CheckIf a vehicle fails a state Smog Check test duringthe coverage period, Chrysler Motors LLC(Chrysler) will repair the vehicle so that it willpass a State Smog Check re-test. The ownershould take the vehicle to any authorizedChrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer for warrantyrepairs and give a copy of the failed SmogCheck test report to the dealer. If the owner isnot notified within 30 days that a performancewarranty claim is denied, the manufacturer mustrepair the vehicle free of charge.

B. What to Do to Get Warranty ServiceTo get warranty service -- even if you're traveling --take your vehicle to any Chrysler, Dodge or Jeepdealer. (Chrysler recommends that you take yourvehicle to a dealer who sells the same make of vehicleas yours.) That dealer will perform any warrantyservice without charging you for diagnosis, parts orlabor.

C. Emergency Emission Warranty ServiceIf you need emergency service under this warrantyand a Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep dealer is not readilyavailable, you may have your vehicle repaired byanyone using any brand of repair parts. • The Customer Assistance Center will recommend anauthorized servicing dealer or help you find aqualified independent servicing dealer.

• If you are going to have to use an independentservicing dealer, make arrangements during yourfirst contact with the Customer Assistance Center forgetting reimbursed for emergency repairs (includinglabor and diagnosis). You will need to get and keepthe replaced parts, as well as the original invoicemarked "paid".

• You should review with the Customer Assistance Centerany questions you have about the emission warranty.

HOW TO GET WARRANTY SERVICE

Reimbursement for parts will be based on Chrysler'ssuggested retail price. Reimbursement for labor willbe based on Chrysler's recommended time allowancefor the repair and on the appropriate hourly labor ratein the geographic area where you had the work done.

Before Chrysler will reimburse you for emergencyrepairs under this warranty, you will have to provideChrysler with details on why the situation was anemergency and why dealer service was unavailable.Under this warranty, an emergency occurs if a partwill not be available within 30 days or if a repair can'tbe completed within 30 days.

Upon receipt of your request:• The National Center for Dispute Settlement (NCDS) willacknowledge receipt of your request, by mail, within ten(10) days, and advise you whether or not your dispute iswithin the jurisdiction of the Process.

• When your request is within jurisdiction NCDSwill request Chrysler and the dealer to present theirside of the dispute. You will receive copies of theirresponses.• While your dispute is pending NCDS or Chryslermay contact you to see if your case can be settledby agreement. If a settlement is offered to you,Chrysler will ask you to sign a form that containsthat settlement. Your case will then be closed.There is no requirement for you to participate inthis settlement process.• If you requested an oral hearing, a decision-maker will contact you to arrange a convenienttime and place for a hearing. D. Notice Under State Lemon LawsSome states have laws allowing you to get a re-placement vehicle or a refund of the vehicle’spurchase price under certain circumstances. Theselaws vary from state to state. If your state law al-lows, Chrysler requires that you first notify us inwriting of any service difficulty that you may haveexperienced so that we can have a chance to makeany needed repairs before you are eligible forremedies provided by these laws.In all other states, we ask that you give us writtennotice of any service difficulty. Send your writtennotice to the Chrysler Customer Assistance Centerat the address in 7.2.

HOW TO DEAL WITH WARRANTY PROBLEMS

Neither you, the dealer nor Chrysler need be present.• NCDS will send you a written Statement of Decision.This statement will include the decision, any action tobe taken by the dealer or Chrysler and the time by whichthe action must be taken. The decision will be bindingon the dealer and Chrysler but not on you unless youaccept the decision.• If any action is required on the part of the dealer orChrysler you will be contacted within ten (10) days afterthe date by which the dealer or Chrysler must act todetermine whether performance has been rendered.• The entire dispute settlement process will normallytake no longer than 40 days.• The CAP dispute settlement procedure does not takethe place of any state or Federal legal remedies availableto you.Whether or not you decide to submit your dis-pute to the Process, you are free to pursue other legalremedies.

9.Maintenance

9.1 General InformationIt’s your responsibility to properly maintain andoperate your new vehicle. Follow the instructionscontained in the General and Scheduled MaintenanceService guidelines in your Owner’s Manual. Regular,scheduled maintenance is essential to trouble-freeoperation. If there is a dispute between you andChrysler Motors LLC ("Chrysler") concerning yourmaintenance of your vehicle, Chrysler will require youto provide proof that your vehicle was properly main-tained.

For your convenience, Chrysler has prepareda Maintenance Log which is included in your Owner'sManual. You should use this Maintenance Log tokeep track of scheduled maintenance, either byroutinely having the repairs entered in your Maint-enance Log, or by keeping receipts or other documen
