A little history:
The Messerschmitt Me410 Hornisse (Hornet) was based on the design of the
previous Me210 twin-engined fighter. The first production version of the Hornisse was the
Me410A-1 light bomber. This was followed by a several variants and sub-variants for the
Zerstorer, bomber destroyer, and photographic reconnaissance roles.
Me410 had wing slats and a lenghtened fuselage. Two 1750 hp Daimler Benz
603A engines replaced the 1350 hp DB 601F powerplants found in Me210. These powerful
engines required redesigned nacelles which were longer than those on the Me210. Both Me210
and 410 carried a crew of two who were seated in tandem behind a single framed canopy.
Six Me210s were modified to Me410 standards, and these were joined in flight
testing by the first true Me410V-1 prototype in late 1942. During 1943 291 Me410s were built, ant
these were followed by another 722 in 1944. The Fanau Flugeugbau in Hungary also built 34
Me410s in 1943 and 74 in 1944 before the plant was destroyed by allied bombing attacks.
Overview of the model:
The present model can be built in several levels of difficulty. The beginners should choose
the easy level, without hidden constructions. For the more advanced modelers I have given the
opportunity to build the interior of the cockpit, engines and detailed gears. To model the interior,
you need to build a hidden construction, which is easy to make. You can build the model with or
without hidden tabs.
Instructions on printing and assembling the model
The elements of the plane cover seven pages. Depending of the level of diifficulty you
must print all pages or just a part of them. The elements are positioned in the following manner:
Pages 1,2,3 and 4: main elements; these pages must all be printed out.
Page 5: Here are the elements needed for modeling the engine, hidden construction and
the detailed gears.
Page 6: Here are the elements needed to model the interior of the cockpit, as well as
several versions of the canopy ( which have no Ids).

Print the necessary files on thin cardboard, Letter format. On page 5 you'll find an
area with red borders, cut it and glue it on a thick cardboard (0.02” thick for example).
Then you can cut out the elements from this area.
Each element has an identificator, which is a combination of a capital letter and a number,
which may be followed by a small letter. The capital letters designate the group of the element and
the number and the small letter the ID of the element in the group. The groups are as follows:
A main elements, needed for all the difficulty levels
C elements for the hidden construction and the interior of the cockpit
E elements for the engine
G elements for the detailed gears
The additional tabs have no identificators, but you'll find on them the IDs of the elements they
are used to assemble. On the first four pages the tabs have either black or green borders. The black
border means that this tab is in use, whether you use the additional tabs or not. The green border
means that the tab is used only if you do not use additional tabs. If you use them, cut out the green-
bordered tabs. At the end you'll find a table with the IDs, locations and the quantity of the elements.
