Biodiversity Conference in Madrid

The basic information about the project was pub-lished in a leaflet that explains to the audience briefly the story of the garden of Zaragoza, as a result of the interaction of three elements: the confluence of the Ebro, Gallego, and Jalon Huer-va rivers, besides the Imperial Canal of Aragon and the network of canals that is born from it; the fertile nature of the land, made possible by floods and river floods; and of course, the work of the people, who have applied their wisdom and traditions of the land.

The brochure provides the outlines of the pro-ject: building a group of 25 ECOAGRICULTORES with entrepreneurial spirit, a network of gardens Km0, encourage consumption of products grown and campaigns to generate awareness and con-sumption of organic products of proximity.

The director of the Agency for Environ-ment and Sustainability of the City of Zaragoza, Javier Celma, participated last June at the conference ‘Biodiversity, key conservation and development’, held in Madrid, organized by the Network of Governments Commercial + Biodiversity FEMP and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

The aim of the -celebradas days between 16 and 17 June in the Fine Arts in the capital was to promote strategies, pro-grams and projects to assist the conser-vation and enhancement of diversity in urban environments. Javier Celma ana-lyzed by a Centener councilors and tech-nical challenges faced by local bodies for the conservation and expansion of biodiversity. In this context, the director of the Environmental Agency of the City of Zaragoza presented draft Natural Life and Life Huertas Km0 Zaragoza, which is developing the City of Zaragoza.
