Expanded realities for the mind Importance of sleep
Physical body is only the temple for the soul , soul is the essence of a human being
People are closer to the natural soul state when they are dreaming and unaware of the physical body
During the sleeping state , people might have opportunities to grow , to receive instruction from great spiritual masters and encounter other experiences that can contribute to a deeper understanding of the purpose and meaning of life
The waking state is actually the dream and that the so-called dream state is closer to the true awakened state ?
Patience , Tolerance and Empathy : Keys to effective leadership

Stress definition Stress is the state of a physical body that has
been subjected to pressure close to , or beyond , its level of tolerance
Balanced Stress Some stress can be
beneficial , motivating people to take action and even to improve their performance
Complete freedom from stress is death
Excessive stress provokes accidents on the job , and creates a host of psychological and physiological complications
Stress related problems Stress influences the immune system , contributing
to infections , allergies , and serious illness . Stress also affects the digestive system and related organs , creating conditions favorable to ulcers , colitis , constipation , and diabetics
Stress also causes backaches , tension , headaches , and arthritis . All of which can make a person accident-prone
Stress affects cardiovascular system , contributing to heart attacks , hypertension , and migraine headaches
Culture of modern society causing more stress
Duplicity and dishonesty People say things they do not believe and do things they do
not wish to do Many leaders say one thing and do another Everyone relates to everyone else superficially and with
suspicion A “ take “ society , characterized by meanness and
jealousy . Enough is never enough . Always feel something is missing
A stress-free life style Honesty , straightforwardness , and simplicity Being able to co-exist with nature , and to live simply Adopt a “ win-win “ approach to life , in which personal
victories are not used as a means to deny or weaken the advantages of others
A simple lifestyle can provide important health benefits
Universal characteristics of authentic leaders
They love people and are sensitive to their emotions and needs They help people feel happy and secure They create lasting value at all times They are philosophers – they seek to convey ultimate abiding truth They lead from the inside out , knowing that character is power They are principle centered They are powerful visionaries They keep everyone engaged according to their propensities They are experts at delegation and empowerment They are servant – leaders who leave behind a culture of enduring

Good leadership is Balanced Should not be too mild or too fierce , neither too tolerant nor too
intolerant Too mild : he will be disregarded . The people will not have enough
respect for him and his words and will not be deterred from acting according to their lower natures
Too fierce : The people will fear him , which does not create a happy state of affairs. When fear is the motivating factor , people will do what is necessary to save their careers , but will not imbibe the principles on a deeper level . Like a heavily disciplined children will be righteous in public , but as soon as they are alone , they will do whatever they want
A leader must be Compassionate but Strong - balanced character
Compassionate vs. too Sentimental or too Forgiving Compassion must be a part of the leader’s mental make-up , but he
must guard against displaying a too-forgiving nature , because then he will be considered weak by low men , and they will take advantage of his kindness and will continue their sinful activities without fear
If one of his follower commits an offense , that person must be punished to bring about the necessary rectification
A spiritual leader always treat others with compassion and love and offer them sincere service . He never give offense but to remain always humble . Humility is the quality of a spiritualist
Spiritual leaders gain power from the godless , by chanting mantras and perform sacrifices , as a way to clear the atmosphere and their minds of the pollution from materialistic activities
Customer / Employee Satisfaction Why needed ? In all endeavors , mistakes are still
made . Our success or failure is often determined not so much by the mistakes themselves but by people’s perception of the mistakes
If people feel the leader has their best interests in mind and has genuine affection for them , they are more willing to forgive
The attack at a time of crisis will be vicious if they have been lied to , manipulated or exploited
Eight Sins of Leadership - Gandhi / BT Swami Wealth without work Commerce without morality Education without ethics Science without humanity Politics without principles Pleasure without conscience Worship without sacrifice Religion without deep philosophy
Eternal dharma Dharma : religious principles ; one’s natural duty It is ultimately that dharma follows us ( inseparable from t
he soul ) , even after everything else has been given up or taken away
Practicing the qualities of dharma : regulation , cleanliness , humility and tolerance
The goal is to abandon passion and ignorance
The Law of Karma Karma : Any material Action that brings a
reaction binding us to the If we cause pain and suffering to other living
beings , we must endure pain and suffering in return
Any material action which will incur a subsequent reaction
Sattva-guna , the mode of goodness
From goodness , healthy minds , bodies and emotions will develop
Goodness allows us to see with clearer eyes and easier to understand what is to be done and what is not
However , everything within the material world is engrossed in the modes of passion ( Raja ) and ignorance ( Tama )
One must control one’s mind and senses in order to advance oneself to spiritually goodness
The mode of Goodness ( Sattva-guna )
Is the “ Vasudeva state “ - the state in which we can understand the science of God ( the launching pad to higher states of self-realization )
“ One who chants ( the Lord’s holy names ) inoffensively is overwhelmed with thoughts of others’ well-beings “ - Bhaktivinoda Thakura
“ Learned persons dedicated to Vedic culture are elevated by the mode of goodness to higher and higher position. The mode of ignorance , on the other hand , forces one to fall headfirst into lower and lower births . And by the mode of passion one continues transmigrating through human bodies . “ - Srimad-Bhagavatam 11.25.21
We will be able to elevate ourselves to a higher position both in this life and after death
Nobody can advance in spiritual life without coming to the platform of sattva-guna
Passion ( Rajo-guna ) and Ignorance ( Tamo-guna )
Both will degrade us , leaving us fixed in our own selfishness
Incarcerate us and cause chaos , deviation , disturbance and the loss of personal integrity
They force us to enter material bodies again and again . With no hope of liberation from the physical sphere
We have to give us the association of these two modes . Then , there is question of progress
The servant leader vs. the manic leader
The servant leader Is accountable Tries to help others by
honoring spirituality in the workplace
Keeping everyone engaged See the mode of goodness
for creating an atmosphere of love and trust
Serving people faithfully
The manic leader They like to feel in control Take advantage of having
control over others to fulfill their baser desires
Interested in having followers than in empowering others
Becomes autocrats
Life has a higher purpose Most of us are only concerned with improving eating , sleeping ,
mating and defending - our physiological needs , our minds are fragmented by unlimited desires
Soon death follows and everything one acquire in the material realm is lost . All that is carried away with the soul , are the values he imbibed and the composite of the deeds he performed
Now people are trying to entertain themselves unhealthy ways and speeding up their dying process
Real living means connecting with our real identity , the higher identity in its connection with God. From this point , we can experience real love
Real Love is based on wholeness , selflessness and the ability to share our essence in very genuine ways
A principle-centered servant leader Principles are not the same as values ; they are laws of the universe pertaining to human relationship and organizations , they are much more binding , have to do with ethics , they are natural rules, universal and its essences are not subject to change Examples ,Karma : the law of reciprocity = every action has an equal and opposite reaction , Jnana : the principle knowledge ,Vijnana : to realize knowledge ,Atma-vidya : to self-realization , or the understanding of the self as the soul Understanding these laws and principles creates fairness , integrity , honesty , dignity , service , liberation , love …etc.,
A principle-centered servant leader Character development lead to productivity and harmony Respect diversity before developing our senses of justice , honesty and integrity When we live on principles and universal laws , we understand the consequences of our activities better , which lead to a more auspicious life , we become more sensitive and accountable Trust develops among leader and its organization , when there is trust , projects can become more successful Critical principles : compassion , selflessness and love
Managers and LeadersManagers Use people to make
things happen Often lead from the back Watch to see what is
popular , what seems politically correct , what will help them increase their status and incomes
Tend to be utilitarian and opportunistic
Leaders Make things happen for the people Always lead from the front , “
follow me and do as I do “ Associate with strong Character ,
Competence , Compassion and Courage
They see the hill ( difficulties ) and proceed to climb it ( deep commitment , perseverance and stamina to attain the goal )
Always keep the highest welfare of their followers in mind . Inspire people to come to a higher standard
The Winners and LosersWinners It may be difficult , but it is
possible Nothing is impossible Let me help you do it I will do it because it is
right , and I will feel good knowing I acted properly
I must believe it before I can see it
Losers It may be possible , but it
is difficult It’s not my job
