THE YOUTH OF THE EPISCOPAL DIOCESE OF ALABAMA

2010-2011

What is Youth Department? The Youth Department is a

group of eleven Episcopalian youth who are elected at EYC Convention by the youth of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama. They serve one year terms. During the year, they plan and organize four different youth events.

Happening in Alabama•What: Happening is a spiritual retreat for youth grades 10-12.“Only someone who has been through Happening can fully understand the extent of the complicated emotion that is evoked by this weekend. It is a feeling of love, overwhelming joy, and a calm sense of spirituality”-Andrew Rains, 17-St. Stephen’s, Birmingham

Special Session“When you’re there the most beautiful

thing happens…the love within that session is an overwhelming feeling.”

Sawyerville Day Camp

• What: Day Camp for the children of Hale County, Alabama

• Where: Greensboro Elementary School
