Work started on the back Mustang field while fall ball was still being played.

I had some help with this field, but not as much as I did with the front Mustang field.

Outline of what will be.

And the journey begins.

Dirt piles are getting bigger.

Work on the back Mustang field went much quicker – mainly because the weather was dry.

Readying the field for sod.

Sod was taken from the Bronco field – where a warning track was cut.

There was only enough sod to do the infield.

Infield is complete and ready for watering.

This time, work was done in sections. Work on the third base side was finished before the first base side was started.

More sod was made available – after it was decided to cut a warning track on the Girls Pony field.

But there still wasn’t quite enough sod to finish the work, so the rest would need to be seeded.

Seed has been sown, time to cover with straw.

Sod was laid along the perimeter and the rest was seeded.

A finished front Mustang field can be viewed in the background.

Almost all of the dirt piles have been removed.

Finishing touches before its winter sleep.

See you in the spring.
