The use of telecare to increase independence for individuals and

their carers within supported living schemes for people with

learning disabilities

two supported living schemes

total of 16 people, with a range of individual needs

project looked at the potential to reduce staff support needs to enable greater independence

finance

consultation with tenants and staff

individual assessments

involvement and communication with

prior to the project service being reconfigured

care plan hours at start of project were 558 hours now reduced to 435 hours per week.(An average reduction of 11 hours per service user per week

based on an average of £13 per hour a total of £82,427 savings pa
