W.J. MANGOLD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

BACKGROUND• W.J. was opened back in 1948 and has continued to be a hard staple in

the West Texas and Panhandle area since.• Was originally called Lockney General Hospital until 1993 when the name

was changed in memorial to William Johnson Mangold for his 41 years of dedicated service

• Since its founding W.J. Mangold has served the Lockney and surrounding area with top grade medial care and general warm hearted care for its patients.

MISSION STATEMENT•As it stands, their mission statement is as follows, “Our mission is to provide excellent healthcare for our patients, with compassion, respect, and dignity.

SHAREHOLDERS• As a government entity and owned by the district also being governed by

an electoral board, W.J. Mangold Memorial Hospital does not have any shareholders that own any stock in their industry.

• Even though they don’t have legal shareholders they share agreements with BSA of Amarillo, Covenant in Lubbock and UMC in Lubbock.

• Their reach extends to a hundred mile radius of people and employees that they impact on a daily bases

• They are frequent advocates for hiring new college graduates, mainly from WT and SPC in Lubbock to do their clinic rotations as well

NEW MEDIA USAGE• The hospital currently only uses a Facebook and has no means to monitor

it and they do not stay that active on it, since they only just now started using the social media scene, but they do use this as a means to find and hire new employees
